Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is back and dreaming of a run to the final ahead of the start of the FA Cup 4th round. To kick things off we’ve got a Premier League v Championship clash under the Friday night lights at Old Trafford.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

It’s Manchester United v Middlesbrough at 8pm on Friday with Chris Wilder’s crew looking to cause a mighty upset. They’re in decent form but United are starting to get back into the groove again. How does Thommo see this one playing out? Here’s his Manchester United v Middlesbrough tips.

Friday 8pm: Manchester United v Middlesbrough

TV: ITV and ITV Hub

Ralf Rangnick will have to get them right for this game, given the headlines around the club this week. If it takes the focus off it’s not good. They had a good result against Aston Villa in Round 3, luckily, I’d say.

But they’re unbeaten in four now which helps confidence. They beat West Ham two weeks ago 1-0 with Marcus Rashford in the 93rd minute which was astonishing. Things like that start to change the feeling around the place. You get those last-minute winners and you’re so happy in that dressing room.

They’re sitting 4th in the Premier League and I think they’ll probably be feeling good at the moment. Boro are 6th in the Championship and Chris Wilder’s done a good job since he’s come in. They beat Coventry last time out and I do fancy them to score because this Manchester United side is so fragile at the back at the best of times – even with their top players.

Do check the team sheets, but I’m going with Manchester United to Win this. I think Marcus Rashford will play, he needs games, and I am going for Rashford to Score Anytime. I’m going for 3-1 to Manchester United.

I think there’s a bit more confidence. As this little unbeaten run gets a bit better you’ll see it, you’ll fee it, and the results will flow with a lot more ease and the football will be better as well.
