Premier League Sack Race Odds: Who will be the next to go in 2021/22?

Marcelo Bielsa was the latest casualty, but who will be the next?

After a pretty quiet 2020/21 in the Premier League managerial merry-go-round it’s been absolute carnage this season. Xisco (remember him?) was, predictably, the first to go with Watford getting out of the blocks to give him the chop nice and early. They’re on their 3rd manager already with Roy Hodgson replacing Claudio Ranieri in the meantime.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS

There’s been some big names getting the axe as well with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s good time 1999 reunion party coming to an end at Manchester United and Nuno Espirito Santo was told to go sulk somewhere else by Tottenham. Will Antonio Conte soon follow suit?

Steve Bruce was the first casualty of Newcastle’s ruthless new Saudi overlords while Marcelo Bielsa was the latest casualty after Leeds decided his 0-1-9 formation wasn’t working anymore. But are we in for a period of calm from now until the end of the season or will we hit double figures for bosses sacked? Here’s where Paddy’s trusty football traders think the axes might be being sharpened.

No Manager To Leave

If you’re confident another Premier League club won’t sack their manager before the end of the season, you should be all over our No Manager To Leave market. We’ve seen nine bosses lose their jobs but will we make it to ten?

Roy Hodgson

The clock is already ticking on Roy Hodgson’s reign at Watford because, well, it’s Watford. His job is simple; keep the Hornets in the Premier League. Even if he achieves that there’s no guarantee he starts next season in the Watford dugout.

Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard was appointed as the Everton manager in January, however, the Toffees are still hovering just above the relegation zone. Everton have been trigger happy with bosses in recent years but could they admit defeat and axe Lampard before the end of the campaign?

Brendan Rodgers

Leicester endured a torrid February and their injury-ravaged side have struggled to keep clean sheets. Brendan Rodgers’ limit at a club seems to be three years but he might not make it that far at this rate.

Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte hasn’t been at Spurs for long but he never hangs around anywhere for extended periods. Things were improving on the pitch in the white half of north London but another disappointing transfer window followed by a poor run halted momentum. They’ve had a couple of good results recently but Conte’s not averse to just walking away when he gets fed up.

Sean Dyche

Burnley boss Sean Dyche always seems to be floating around the top of these markets but he continues to cling on. The Clarets are in another relegation dogfight but the signing of Wout Weghorst seems to have breathed life into them.

Ralf Rangnick Man Utd

Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea are in limbo at the moment as Roman Abramovich sells the club to the highest bidder. Thomas Tuchel has been brilliant at Stamford Bridge since replacing Lampard but there’s always a chance the German could receive a better offer elsewhere.

Ralf Rangnick

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick is supposed to be moving upstairs to oversee the whole operation in the summer but, given the way things are going, there’s a chance he might not get his feet under the desk. Results haven’t been great and there’s been mumblings of discontent from behind the scenes as well.
