Sunday night is going to be an absolute humdinger of a night for football. We have some of the biggest names in European football returning to action in their domestic league competitions. Atletico Madrid will be looking to reboot their La Liga campaign after a very inconsistent first half to their season.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
In Italy, Inter return to a title defence that sees them take on Lazio at home just one point ahead of city rivals AC Milan. First up though we have Lyon taking on PSG in France. Let’s get stuck into the stats then and find some value bets.

7.45pm: Lyon vs PSG: BTTS No Draw
BT Sport 2
Paris St-Germain have already been back in action since the league break with a Coupe de France 0-4 thrashing of third-tier Vannes, while Lyon’s cup game against Paris’ other team, Paris FC has been rescheduled. The home side will have used the break to recoup and reassess their season as prior to the break they went five games without a single victory, losing one and drawing four.
Their home form has seen them win two, draw two and lose one over their last five in all competitions, their home league form shares the same record. Both Teams to Score landed in four of those five and Over 2.5 goals in just two. PSG are coasting to yet another title win, 13 points separate themselves and Nice in second place.
They face a stern test here, though, and have only been priced above 4/5 a few times this season, interestingly they failed to win any game where they were priced higher. Eight of the last nine meetings between the sides here in all competitions have seen BTTS landing and the Parisians have only kept one clean sheet over their last seven away Ligue 1 games.
With the hosts averaging 1.89 goals per home league game they should make a dent here. We’re very likely to see a winner too – Les Gones have only had four draws over their nine home league games and the away side have recorded just three over their 10 away games. The best value here is in backing Both Teams To Score, No Draw here.
7.45pm: Inter vs Lazio: Inter to Win & BTTS
BT Sport 1
Inter should have been back to action on Thursday afternoon but, like much of the Serie A fixtures that day, it had to be postponed. Lazio played an end-to-end 3-3 draw with Empoli, coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and then leveling it again in injury time thanks to their super Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic.
Inter have won all five of their most recent Serie A games and at home they also boast the same record, scoring at least two goals in four of those five games. Lazio have won three of their last five in the Serie A, drawing one and losing one, scoring at least three goals in four of those games.
They’ve not been as lethal on their league outings, winning two of their last five on their travels, drawing one and losing two, scoring at least two in three of those five and scoring a total of nine while conceding 10.
No doubt Inter have one of the best backlines in the league this season but Lazio are rarely kept scoreless and are averaging 1.40 goals per away league game. Inter’s recent record of five wins from five is hard to argue with though and they should emerge with the spoils at full time. I’m on Inter to Win and Both Teams to Score.
8pm: Villarreal vs Atletico Madrid: BTTS No Draw
Premier Sports 1 and LaLigaTV
Villarreal will fancy their chances here coming up against Diego Simeone’s Atletico. The hosts have won four of their last five in the league, scoring a total of 15 and conceding four. At home, they’ve also won four of their last five, losing the other, scoring 14 and conceding five with Overs landing in three and BTTS in two of those five.
The visitors have lost four of their last five in La Liga, winning the other one, scoring just five goals and conceding eight. On their La Liga travels they’ve lost three of their last five, drawing one and losing one, scoring nine and conceding 10.
We’re also unlikely to see a draw here and based on the above stats you’d have to favour the hosts. However, we still can’t dismiss the away side thanks to the quality in their ranks. The hosts have only seen two draws over their 10 home La Liga games while Atletico have also only drawn twice away from home this season over their 10 away La Liga games. Both Teams To Score No Draw has the best value here as well.
