Premier League: Man City plan for February open top bus parade

All over, innt?

Manchester City have formally applied for an open-top bus parade to celebrate winning the 2021/22 Premier League title, Paddy Power News can reveal.

Club officials submitted the application following yesterday’s 2-2 draw between Chelsea and Liverpool which left the Etihad outfit 10 points clear at the top of the table.

It’s understood City have informed both of their fans about the parade which will make its way down Peter Street and along Deansgate on Tues 1st February at 1800 BST.

‘Pep Guardiola has made the Premier League about as competitive as the SPL during that spell when Rangers were relegated to the Scottish Third Division’, a source close to the Premier League board told Paddy Power News.

‘So, it’s with a heavy heart, and even heavier pockets, we must accept City’s application for an open-top bus parade in February’.

‘F**k knows how we’re going to flog the rest of this season’s games while these oil-rich b*stards embark on a five-month extended victory lap’.

‘I guess we could switch our attention to Moyesie’s doomed attempt at getting West Ham into the Champions League. Yes, I can see it now, David versus the former Goliaths, Manchester United and Arsenal’.

‘Or we focus on Newcastle’s quest for relegation to the Championship. That might be quite funny’, they chuckled.

Meanwhile, Paddy Power News understands Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp broke several items of living room furniture while watching yesterday’s clash with Chelsea at home in isolation.

Klopp’s wife confirmed a vase and a new lamp were destroyed when the German let fly with a flurry of celebratory fist-pumps as his side raced into an early 2-0 lead.

The 54-year-old also caused considerable damage to some porcelain ornaments when he threw a stein of beer following Christian Pulisic’s equaliser on the stroke of half-time.

It’s believed the former Dortmund boss will serve a three-game living-room ban and has been warned by his wife as to his future conduct.
