Liverpool suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Leicester last time out and fired a blank as their incredible run of scoring in 34 consecutive games came to a shuddering end. They face a tough test next up as they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
To add a bit of extra spice, the former Liverpool star and current Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson returns to take a look at this headline clash in the Premier League on Sunday evening. As impartial as ever, here’s Thommo’s Chelsea v Liverpool tips.
Sunday 4.30pm: Chelsea v Liverpool
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
It’s a fantastic game. You’re looking at it and Chelsea are the draw specialists of late, losing that late goal against Brighton to draw with them at home. They’ve only won four of the last 10 in all competitions.
There’s a lot of draws in there but Romelu Lukaku’s back which will give them a great lift. My team, Liverpool, losing against Leicester – it was reminiscent of going through that bad patch last season when we couldn’t score a goal and were missing so many chances.
They’ve ended that run of 34 games of scoring and they just couldn’t do it midweek. I do fancy them back on the score sheet here, they will not miss those chances again.
I fancy Liverpool to Win this big game at the weekend. I fancy Liverpool to win and Both Teams To Score but it’s going to be very, very narrow.
I’ve gone for Liverpool to Win 2-1. If you want a scorer, guys, Diogo Jota to Score Anytime. He’s having a great run.
