Phil Thompson is back in the saddle to see you through to the end of Boxing/St Stephen’s Day with his steely gaze turned on Brighton v Brentford at 8pm. It’s been a frustrating season for The Seagulls who started well but just can’t buy a win at the moment.
Brentford have done well after gaining promotion last term and are nicely poised one spot above Brighton in 12th as we near the halfway mark. Games don’t get much closer than this so, who does Thommo think will triumph? Here’s his Brighton v Brentford tips.
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
I’m going for Brighton in this one. I think it’s got to come right for them. They’ve no wins in 11 Premier League games but there have been a lot of draws in there.
They’ve had an absolute bagful of chances, but they’ve only scored 14 in 16. That is why it’s become very difficult for them. Last weekend Brentford’s game was off v Southampton, and Brighton’s trip to Manchester United was postponed too, so these two teams should be fresh to put on a bit of a display on the TV.
Brentford have only had two wins in their last nine, but their only defeat in their last five Premier League games was against Spurs so I’ll go for Both Teams to Score.
Football Tips: 15/2 play among Phil Thompson’s Brighton v Brentford best bets
This could be a ding dong clash to round off the footy feast on Boxing Day.

He missed out in Brighton’s last game against Wolves but he could return here, so I’m going for Neal Maupay to Score Anytime in a slight Brighton Win. Do you get my drift? I’m going for 2-1 to Brighton.
