We have an action-packed night of football on Tuesday night where we’ll be diving into the Premier League matches on offer and one from the Scottish Premiership too. League leaders Manchester City welcome an inconsistent Leeds United to the Etihad in the late kick off while up north Hibs entertain Dundee United at Easter Road where both teams will be desperate to get back to winning ways.
Bottom of the Premier League Norwich face an improving Aston Villa but starting us off we have Brentford taking on a rejuvenated Manchester United in what should be a ding-dong affair.
Norwich have won just one of their eight home games this season, drawing two and losing five. The Villains have only won two on the road over their eight away games this season but form is king in football and Villa’s recent league results show that they’ve been in good health. Over their five most recent home/away games they’ve won three and lost two, those two losses were to Man City and Liverpool so we can’t be too harsh on them.
They’ve scored seven over their last five in the league and have conceded five. Over the same period Norwich have scored just three goals and conceded six. The market is siding with the travelling team to take the points against the league’s bottom side here and going on recent form we have to give them the nod too.
Neither side come into this one in mighty shape. Hibs have won just one of their last five in the Premiership, drawing two and losing two while Dundee have won two and lost three over their five most previous fixtures. The home side are really struggling for goals of late, having only scored three goals over their last five games on home turf.
The Terrors have been scoring more in their respective away league games, netting five over their last five and over their last five overall have scored a total of eight. In previous head to head meetings at Easter Road the away side have scored four over their last four fixtures and really the best way to go here is to back them to get at least one, especially considering that the hosts have conceded eight over their last five at home in the league.
City took four points from a possible six against Leeds in both of their Premier League games last season but with Leeds’ ongoing league struggles in their second season, Pep Guardiola’s side are heavy favourites to take the three points here. However, the visitors could well cause a problem here. The hosts have won much praise for their defensive talents this season but over recent games they’ve conceded in three of their last four in the league.
The travelling side rarely go a game without scoring too, indeed of their last 10 games in the Premier League they’ve scored in all but one and their away form has seen them scoring a total of five over their five most previous away fixtures. The Citizens have also conceded in four of their last six home games in all competitions and with BTTS available at Evens it’s offering some mighty value.
