We have ‘Der Klassiker’ this weekend in the Bundesliga and it’s shaping up to be an intriguing affair. Bayern Munich top the league on 31 points after 13 games played with Borussia Dortmund just a single point behind.

With both teams having scored a combined total of 75 goals between them in the German top flight this term we should see plenty of goalmouth action, and we’ve gone through all the stats to find a value-busting Bet Builder.

Both Teams to Score in the First Half

Over recent weeks Dortmund have changed tact a little bit. They had been waiting until the second period of play to really go at their opponents but in their five most recent home Bundesliga games, they’ve scored five first-half goals. Bayern have been ruthless throughout and over their five previous away league games have netted a total of 12 first-half goals. This bet has landed in three out of the last four previous meetings between these old rivals in all competitions and with both eager to take the points here we should see a ferocious beginning to proceedings.

Robert Lewandowski to Score Anytime

Was Bobby robbed midweek when he wasn’t handed the Ballon d’Or? Lionel Messi more or less said so, yet he still got to keep a big gold biscuit thingy instead of the big gold football and he seemed happy enough in his speech accepting it. Enough of that sideshow, though. Let’s get back to business.

Lewy loves nothing more than scoring against his old employers. In 24 appearances since leaving for the land of Oktoberfest and lederhosen, he has scored 24 times. Poland’s captain has 14 goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances as well as 11 in seven cup competition matches so far this season. In such form we’d be bonkers to leave him out of our Bet Builder.

Erling Haaland to Score Anytime

Erling Haaland has to make the list too. The young Norwegian has already faced Bayern five times and has scored four. So far this season he has notched 10 Bundesliga goals over seven appearances as well as four in four cup matches. He also has five over his last six matches at the Westfalenstadion. His form is also just too good to ignore and we think he’ll add to his Bundesliga tally here.

Bayern to Win

It’s very tough to separate the sides here as both are in such strong form of late. Dortmund have won eight of their last nine on home turf in all competitions while Bayern have won seven over the same length of games on their travels. BVB have had plenty of chances to beat their old nemesis over recent seasons but have always fallen short, indeed, Bayern have emerged victorious in all six of the most previous meetings between the sides.

Munich’s goal-scoring prowess is the one thing that does separate the sides though, Die Roten have scored a total of 42 league goals already, Dortmund trail them on 33 and that lethality they possess in goal-scoring opportunities means we have to go with the travelling side here.
