Here comes another Monday, but this is no ordinary Monday. This is cyber Monday, whatever that means. Basically it’s just a chance to retailers to flog whatever leftover c**p they’ve got lying around after Black Friday.

Anyway, none of that nonsense really matters because there’s football on. Admittedly, it’s not quite the star-studded bonanza that we enjoyed on Sunday, but it’s footy nonetheless.

We kick off in Turkey before heading north to Scandinavia, then we go onto the good old Championship and we will finish up with La Liga. Let’s get stuck in.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

17:00 Goztepe v Fenerbahce: Fenerbahce to Win

Mesut Ozil and his Fenerbahce friends have been disappointing in the Turkish Super Lig this season and they already trail leaders Trabzonspor by 10 points after 13 games. They’re currently fifth and are just outside the European spots.

Their opponents on Monday, Goztepe, are in the drop zone and have only managed 10 points from their 13 matches. Fenerbahce are not in stunning form with just one win from their last five domestic matches, but that did come against bitter rivals Galatasaray last time out.

In fairness, they’ve had a tough run going up against the Super Lig’s first, third and fourth placed teams in that run. Goztepe have only won twice this season and the away side’s tough run is making the case for us here, so I’m happy to go with Fenerbahce to claim victory.

18:00 Elfsborg v AIK: Under 2.5 Goals

To colder climates and a red-hot contest as third placed AIK travel to fourth-placed Elfsborg. This is the penultimate game for both, and either of them can still win the title. Leaders Malmo are just two points clear of AIK and three from Elfsborg.

Given the fixture list, it’s unlikely that either will finish on top though and more pressing perhaps, is the fight to qualify for continental competition next season. AIK occupy the final Europa Conference League spot and won’t want to give it up.

AIK won the first meeting of the season between these two sides on a 1-0 scoreline and goals should be at a premium here. Under 2.5 Goals has clicked in six of the away side’s last seven and two of Elfsborg’s last five, that pair being their two most recent matches.

19:45 Derby v QPR: The Draw

Crisis club Derby host QPR in the Championship with The Rams getting off 0 points for the third time this season during the week. They’ve now been docked a massive total of 21 points because two different punishments. They would be 19th but for that, however they are 24th instead and were 19 points from safety as things stand.

QPR started Saturday’s round of games in fourth and are now sixth after them. But, The Rs have real hopes of a promotion push, though playoffs are more likely at this stage. On paper this looks to be an easy away win for The R’s, but Derby – for all their problems – are really hard to beat.

Wayne Rooney’s Rams have lost just five games this season and you have to go all the way up to third to find anyone with fewer defeats. Mark Warburton’s men have won three and drawn three of their last six, while County have drawn six of their last nine. It’s fine to sit on the fence in this one as a stalemate looks the most likely outcome.

20:00 Osasuna v Elche: Osasuna to Win

Finally to La Liga, where 10th placed Osasuna tackle Elche who occupy the final relegation spot in 18th. These two are in woeful form, with three losses and two draws in their last five for both.

It’s been a horror run for Osasuna though, with Real Madrid, Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid being their last four games. It’s been far easier for Elche, but their last win came seven games ago – and is one of just two they’ve enjoyed this term.

Osasuna will be rubbing their hands together at the chance to enjoy themselves against one of the lesser lights after that string of tough games. They had been on a run of five wins in seven prior to that, so they have the quality to get results in this league – especially against the struggling siide. With an easier task at hand, I believe it’ll pay to side with the Osasuna Win.
