Rio Ferdinand to appear on Top Gear demonstrating the perfect U-turn

Ole, step away from the wheel

Rio Ferdinand will make a guest appearance on television’s Top Gear to demonstrate the perfect U-turn, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.

The former defender was invited onto the show after calling for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be sacked.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

This is in stark contrast to the time Ferdinand demanded the Norwegian be given the job on a permanent basis and even be allowed to write his own salary on the contract.

After hearing the news, Top Gear producers reached out to the 43-year-old to see if he would be willing demonstrate the reversal manoeuvre for viewers at home.

‘It’s rare to see a U-turn of this magnitude executed so well’, a show executive told Paddy Power News.

‘Here you have the same man who demanded Ole be given the job on a full-time basis now saying he always doubted he could ever win the title’.

‘It seems odd that you’d advocate the idea of allowing a manager to name his own salary when you secretly believe he’s incompetent.

‘If one didn’t know better, you’d think Rio was trying to save face and totally talking out of his arse?’

It’s understood producers are planning to name the segment of the show ‘Rio’s at the wheel’.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s squad are being afforded the opportunity to rest following their exertions during last Saturday’s practice game against Manchester City at Old Trafford.

The players and staff have been given a full week off – despite the fact they also took a leave of absence during the entire month of October.

DON’T MISS

‘I’m sure a few of the boys are knackered after the City performance’, said manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

‘At one point I think I saw the lads breaking into a jog’.

‘Hopefully the players come back fully recharged for the Watford defeat’.

‘I’m planning on spending the downtime browsing social media to see how their PR teams are undermining my authority’.
