Paddy Power punter beats 18,000/1 odds to land £9k from ace acca

Talk about a terrific Thursday!

Thursday’s don’t get much tidier than they did for one Paddy Power punter last week, as we were given a battering that only Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have been used to lately. That’s because our winner – who hails from Oldham – placed a tasty 12-fold footie accumulator that took us on a world tour that Coldplay would be proud of!

The awesome acca took in games from 10 different football leagues across the world featuring matches from four continents. In fact, the punt went as far south as the Chilean Primera Division and travelled so far north that it also hit on the Faroe Islands Premier League!

The bumper bet beat off humongous odds of 18,100/1 odds to come up, and our victor netted a wonderful windfall of £9,051 after placing just a 50p stake. Our customer obviously relied on an encyclopaedic-like football brain to bring the bet up, but a lot of luck was also needed along the way. Let’s tell you how plucky play landed.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Our winner started out with three correctly called results in Spain’s Segunda Division. Firstly, Girona saw off Alcorcon 3-1 at the Estadi Montilivi as former Middlesbrough man Cristhian Stuani hit a second-half hat-trick for the home side. Then, Zaragoza did their part by winning 1-0 away at relegation-threatened Burgos. Our customer also had draw on the betslip as Ibiza Eivissa and Tenerife squared off in a battle of the Spanish islands. It proved to be a good shout as the game petered out to a 0-0 stalemate.

Next, we were off to  Eastern Europe, as Farul Constanta fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to FCSB in a Romanian Liga 1 ties. That was added to by Tallinna Kalev II handing out a 4-2 hiding to FC Tallinn in Estonia. Then it was time to set sail for the North Atlantic Ocean, where B36 Torshavn sent Vikingur Gota packing with a 2-0 home success in the Faroes.

We are halfway home with those results, but we’re going to take a spin to South America next. Mirassol U20 provided the next positive result for our winner here as they beat Marilia AC U20 1-0 in Brazil. Then a short hop over to Argentina was necessary, but there was no cause for concern here as Deportivo Madryn claimed a 1-0 triumph after their trek to Club Atletico Racing de Cordoba.

Up next on the chopping block after that was the visit of Al-Shabab to Bahrain SC in the Bahraini Second Division, and they delivered their end of the bargain with a 2-1 victory. It was over to Africa after that on the betslip and IRT Tanger did the business by defeating DHJ El Jadida 4-2 in Morocco.

Now, we get to the drama and our winner must have had fingernails chewed as two results were not going the way they were predicted to heading into the final moments of the games. Thankfully, Nicolas Vargas popped up with an 89th-minute spot-kick to lock up a 1-0 home win for Nublense against Universidad de Chile in the aforementioned Chilean Primera Division.

That left just one game remaining to come up, and that was being held in Egypt as our punter needed Al Mokawloon and El Geish to play out a draw in the Egyptian top tier. But, as the watch ticked past the 91st minute all seemed lost with the home outfit clinging onto a 1-0 lead. However, almost as if it was written in the stars, El Geish were awarded a penalty as time ran out and defender Ali Ahmed Mohab El Fil planted it to the net to secure the final result required for our victor to land the loot!

With that over £9,000 was winging its way to Oldham, and it really was a Hall of Fame worth punt in our book. Enjoy the winnings!
