Manchester City have a must-win clash with Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday night and who better to preview that game than our man for the big occasion, Phil Thompson. City have six points from their two games and sit second in Group A behind Paris St-Germain and just ahead of Brugge who are two points back. The Premier League champions will drop out of the qualification spots with a loss, but can wither Jason or Thommo see that happening?

THOMMO: Man City battered Club Brugge in the reverse leg, it was embarrassing. Club Brugge sit on four points and they’ve had solid results in the Champions League but they were no match for City. There’s been 17 goals in Man City’s three Champions League games so far this season and I expect them to add to their tally here.
I like Man City to Win 3-0 as Club Brugge won’t cause them many problems. I reckon Gabriel Jesus will start and I fancy him to bag at the Etihad. Gabriel Jesus to Score Anytime is solid as City will create plenty of chances against a Club Brugge side there for the taking.
JASON: Man City to Win is unbackable at their current odds so I’ll be swerving that. I think there’s value in Both Teams to Score though. Pep Guardiola won’t play his best starting XI with all eyes on the Manchester derby on Saturday. Man City have conceded in every Champions League game they’ve played so far this season so that trend could continue. Club Brugge scored in the reverse leg so they’ll fancy another one at the Etihad.
In terms of the goalscorer market, Riyad Mahrez didn’t start at the weekend so he should start this game. He’s also on penalties which is absolutely key. Riyad Mahrez to Score First is a brilliant selection if he starts and I’m completely confident he’ll score if you want to back it each way to edge your bets.
