Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is back to help you round off the footballing weekend in style as he takes a look at the Monday night football. This week it’s Everton heading to Wolves with both sides in a state of flux.
Wolves have improved recently but The Toffees are still smarting after their sensational collapse against Watford last time out. So, with much to ponder, here’s Liverpool great Thommo’s verdict on this one.
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
This is an interesting one with Wolves just coming into a little bit of good form which will really unhinge the Everton defence. They’re unbeaten in four, they’ve won four of the last six, Wolves, but they’re the joint-lowest home scorers. They’ve only scored two in the Premier League.
That tells me there’s not going to be a vast amount of goals in this one. Everton, my goodness what happened to them verses Watford? They capitulated in that last 10 minutes, going from 2-1 up to get beat 5-2! It was incredible.
Their only win in the last five games has been against Norwich. Salomon Rondon’s having a tough time, will he play? Everton won both of these games last season, by the way. But, if you want a goal scorer in this I’m going for Raul Jimenez.
He’s scored in all of his four appearances against Everton so he’s a guy who’s got a hoodoo over a side. I’m going for The Draw in this one. I think Everton will be hurting from that 5-2 drubbing by Watford. I’m going for a 1-1 scoreline so Both Teams To Score. I’ll have Raul Jimenez to Score First.
