We can’t have a Premier League weekend without the elite-level insight from Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson. The Liverpool great is riding solo today as all of a sudden, all of Paddy’s Manchester United supporting traders seem to have gone on annual leave.
Weird that, huh? Undeterred, Thommo rides valiantly to our aid with PPTV to give us a sumptuous selection of best bets for the weekend’s big games. First up is Saturday’s early clash as Leicester face Arsenal at the King Power. So, how does Thommo see this one playing out?
This game, I think it’s two teams enjoying a good spell at the moment. Leicester have won their last four in all competitions, scoring 12 goals but they’ve faced more shots than any other side in the Premier League – 147!
It shows that maybe defensively they’re maybe not quite right but Jamie Vardy has scored 11 goals against Arsenal, more than any other side. There’s only Wayne Rooney who’s scored more against Arsenal with 12. But Arsenal are having a good time, they’ve turned thigs round since those dark days of the early season.
They’re unbeaten in eight in all competitions at the moment but they’ve only won one of four away in the Premier League and that was against Burnley. Guys, I am going for Leicester to Win this one. I think Both Teams to Score, but Leicester for me.
I’m going 2-1 to Leicester, I don’t think it’s going to be a goal-fest by any means. As I said, you can’t look past Jamie Vardy to Score Anytime. If he’s scored that many goals against Arsenal he’s a bit of a jinx to them.
