Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is feeling the heat at Old Trafford following a string of poor results, with their latest dismal showing coming in their 2-0 defeat at home in the Manchester derby. United could barely get the ball off Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s men toyed with Solskjaer’s side.

The disappointing City loss came less than two weeks after United’s 5-0 home battering at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side hit FOUR first half goals to leave Old Trafford shellshocked, and Mo Salah added a fifth after the break to complete his hat-trick and pile on the misery.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

United have also lost at Leicester and needed two late Cristiano Ronaldo inspired comebacks in Europe against Atalanta recently. Despite a 3-0 win over Tottenham in October, Solskjaer’s position has never looked less secure. With Chelsea and Arsenal on the way before November 30th, the United boss is set for plenty of sleepless nights.

So, when could United sack Solskjaer and who could take over at Old Trafford? The very latest Solskjaer to be sacked and next United manager odds are available via our betting widgets below.

Solskjaer is currently second favourite in the Next Premier League Manager to Leave Their Club market after the City defeat. It’s going to be a nervy international break for the Norwegian.

Jose Mourinho clung on until the week before Christmas despite a nightmare start to his final season in charge, so for anyone spying a repeat, there’s a market for Ole to go before December 25th 2021.

However, many are still #OleIn and can also get in on the action if they think he’ll be around for the 2023/24 Premier League season and the 2024/25 campaign.

But should United opt to get rid of Solskjaer, who could replace him at Old Trafford?

Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers

This would be a tasty one, former Liverpool and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers might be running out of steam at Leicester. He gets his sides playing great football and they almost-always overachieve. The polar opposite of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, then. How would the United faithful react to an ex-Kopite running their club?

Mauricio Pochettino

Unsurprisingly, the former Tottenham boss and all-round dreamboat Mauricio Pochettino features highly on our list. The Argentine has been widely tipped to join Manchester United at various points throughout his career and speculation reached boiling point when he was dismissed as Spurs manager. He’s since moved to Paris St-Germain but that doesn’t quite feel like the right fit. Whether he’d be willing to swap PSG’s star XI including Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe for the likes of Fred and Phil Jones is another question…

CristianoRonaldoManUnitedSep21

While those three would be serious and solid options for United, why not back Ronaldo just to take over himself? Seems like he’s running the show anyway.
