Zidane headbutts Joel Glazer after Man United approach

He's having none of it

Zinedine Zidane headbutted Manchester United co-owner Joel Glazer in the chest following an approach from the American businessman to become the club’s new manager, Paddy Power News can exclusively reveal.

With the Glazer family set to continue their policy of tying managers down to long-term contracts before sacking them a few months later, French legend Zidane was the owner’s No1 choice to replace the current heir to a hefty payoff, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

United set up a secret meeting with the 49-year-old World Cup winner during which Joel Glazer offered him the chance to manage the club.

Upon hearing the offer, sources claim Zidane launched his head into Glazer’s chest, the force of which left the Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner in a heap on the floor.

“I haven’t see Zizou lose his sh*t like that since Marco Materazzi enquired about taking his sister on a date”, the source told Paddy Power News.

“He said he’d rather play 18 holes of golf with Gareth Bale than manage Man United then headbutted Joel Glazer square in the chest.

“Joel fell to the floor like a sack of Maris Piper spuds and had to be given mouth to ass resuscitation by Ed Woodward.

“At which point, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer entered the room and laughed, ‘That’s football for you’, then f**ked off again.”

Discussing the incident with L’Équipe, Zidane said: “I haven’t been so insulted since Jack Walker told Kenny Dalglish I was just a sh*te Tim Sherwood.

“I’d rather stir fry my own feet than stand on the sideline in the p*ssing Manchester rain while Harry Maguire puts umpteen punts up field out for throw-ins.

“Besides, everyone knows I’m a life-long Newcastle United fan. Howay the lads.”

In related news, hysterical Manchester United fans have spent the day on Twitter arguing about how to blame their 4-2 defeat against Leicester on Fred – despite the fact the Brazilian did not feature.

“It doesn’t matter that he didn’t play. Fred is now a state of mind,” wrote the admin of one United fanzine.
