To paraphrase the age old question, what happens when a stoppable force meets a movable object? That’s what we will find out on Sunday when Tottenham face Newcastle. Despite a decent points tally of 12 points from seven games, Tottenham’s underlying numbers are alarming.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Only Watford and Norwich having created fewer chances according to their XG numbers. Luckily they will face a very shiftable object at St James’ with no team in the Premier League having conceded more goals than Steve Bruce’s side. Newcastle are further weakened by the likely absences of Joe Willock, Miguel Almiron and reliable goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Tottenham to win
Spurs are a hesitant selection here despite their underlying problems. They still should have enough quality in attack with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura able to unlock a leaky Newcastle defence.
The home side will be over-reliant on the mercurial genius of Allan Saint-Maximin for any creativity with Callum Wilson and Almiron absent. Its also questionable what kind of effort we will get from a Newcastle squad that know this is probably Steve Bruce’s last game in charge of the club. Tottenham to Win kicks us off.
Harry Kane to score anytime
Son Heung-min is one of the most consistent wide forwards in the Premier League with 10 or more league goals in each of his last five seasons and has reached double figures in assists in each of the last two campaigns. He’s been by far Spurs’ best player this season but with the speculation around him potentially being a late withdrawal from the squad, it’s well worth siding with Harry Kane to Score Anytime as your next-best bet.
Japhet Tanganga to be carded
Japhet Tanganga has already accrued two yellow cards and one red card through five league matches and is in the top 10 in the league for fouls conceded. Japhet Tanganga to be carded is a nice price.
Allan Saint-Maximin to have 1 or More shots on target
Saint-Maximin is one of the only players in the Newcastle’s squad who might be part of their long-term future and he will be the focal point of their attack on Sunday. Allan Saint-Maximin to Have 1 or More Shots on Target looks a banker.
