Sunday’s Premier League action gets off to a great start with Everton v West Ham at 2pm. Liverpool God Phil Thompson is quite keen on the Toffee’s chances again – just don’t tell anyone. Someone really should really let him know that these videos are going out to the public…
To play Hyde to Thommo’s Jekyll is Paddy Power football trader Emmet O’Keeffe who sees this playing out a different way. Who will be right? Let’s hear the case for either side.
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
THOMMO: I think this is a great game, I think this is a wonderful one for Sunday afternoon. Shock has it, Everton have a 100% home record, played three won three. It’s going to be difficult for anyone at Goodison Park. Their only defeat this season has been away at Aston Villa and watch out for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
I do think he’ll be fit for this one, he’s been out for a while. Obviously the international break has helped them. He’s scored five in the last four versus West Ham. If Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on that team sheet I’ll be having a look, but West Ham will give them a game. I think it’s going to be very tight.
David Moyes will be absolutely fired up for this, Michael Antonio’s scored nine in his last 13 games so get him maybe on that scoresheet for West Ham, but I’m going for an Everton Win and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Score Anytime.
EMMET: I’m probably going to go the other way, but like Phil says it’s vital to wait for the teams to come out. It looks like it’s up in the air whether Calvert-Lewin plays or not. If he doesn’t play West Ham have far more quality in attack with Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and obviously Antonio compared to Salomon Rondon and Demarai Gray.
If Calvert-Lewin wasn’t to start I’d lean towards the West Ham Win. I think these teams are pretty equal but just with Everton’s injury issues that would have me leaning West Ham’s way.
