Everyone was relieved after Ireland’s brilliant win against Azerbaijan last weekend as we all knew Stephen Kenny needed a result as the pressure was mounting. He needed a result and we got that. It was a comprehensive win, we scored three goals and it was all away from home.
Tuesday 7:45pm: Republic of Ireland v Qatar Sky Sports Premier League
I wouldn’t be getting too carried away yet though and Stephen knows that. Hopefully they can carry this momentum through to Tuesday’s game against Qatar.
It’ll be interesting to see what team Stephen picks with it being a friendly. Will he give some lads game time? I’d start with a strong team to continue from Saturday’s big win. If we were to go 2-0 or 3-0 up I’d then start making changes.
I’d keep eight or nine of the starting XI the same simply to avoid losing momentum. Second half is the time to give lads game time. I fancy Ireland to Win if he picks a strong side.
If I was pressed to pick a correct score I’d go with Ireland to Win 2-0. It’s important to get the win and hopefully a clean sheet too.
I’d start Adam Idah and Callum Robinson up top again. Stephen might change who’s behind those two as No. 10’s. It’d be great to see Idah open his account for Ireland so even though I fancy Robinson to net again, I’ll go with Idah to Score Anytime.
