While Wales will feel a sharp tinge of disappointment after missing the chance to win in the Czech Republic, the truth is they got a great result which could prove vital in booking 2nd spot in Group E.
They were the better team on the night and certainly finished on the front foot. Danny Ward’s disastrous own goal took the shine off the result and is the main cause for the feeling of ‘what if?’ around the Wales camp.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
But at the end of the day avoiding defeat was surely the main objective, even if they could, and should, have won it in the end. Attention must now turn to Estonia and a game that is certainly must win.
Robert Page’s troops have three left to play with the bottom two sides up next and a final-day meeting with Belgium. It’s going to go right down to the wire and they’ll need, you’d think, maximum points against Estonia and Belarus before looking to pinch something against the inexplicably No.1 ranked team in the world.

Monday 7.45pm: Estonia v Wales

Wales to Win
And, like I said before Friday night’s game, Wales always seem to just about get the result they need. An obvious contradiction to that statement was their disappointing 0-0 draw with Monday’s opponents during the last international break.
However, their performance on Friday gives me confidence that Wales will have learned from that stalemate and have the attacking prowess to break the Estonians down this time. Estonia are fresh off a 2-0 win themselves but Page’s team really, really need to win and I think Wales will do just that.
Over 2.5 Goals
Taking a little bit of a punt with Over 2.5 Goals. The initial inclination is to go with Under 2.5 Goals but the away side have to come out and play here. Estonia are pretty shocking at the back, shipping an average of three goals a game and you’d expect Wales to breach them a couple of times.
But Monday night’s hosts have actually scored a goal more than Wales (eight) and have four points fewer (four). They still have incredibly faint hopes of overhauling the Czechs and Wales so might come out and go for it. We could be in for a few goals here and I’m siding with Over 2.5 Goals.
Both Teams To Score
All of that leads us nicely onto Both Teams To Score, not least because I think we’re going to need both to net to pass the Overs mark. As mentioned, Estonia have actually scored more goals than Wales this campaign and I’m expecting The Dragons to get a couple.
Estonia’s defence is terrible, technically both teams need to win. I can’t envisage a repeat of the 0-0 earlier in the group and I suspect we’re going to see Both Teams Scoring here.
Kieffer Moore to Score First
Kieffer Moore hasn’t been in the best of form this season for Cardiff and he’s still stranded on just one goal for The Bluebirds. But he showed why he’s so effective for Wales on Friday night and should have opened the scoring following Dan James’ breakaway and through ball to put him in one-on-one.
He had a couple of other chances with his head as well and should have netted for his country. With Estonia’s shocking defence and Wales putting on the pressure I think there’s a good chance we see the big man come up good and for Kieffer Moore to Score First.
