Paddy Power football trader Brian McDonnell has teamed up with PPTV to take a look at the most interesting fixtures in the Premier League on Saturday. First up it’s Manchester United taking on an Everton side who are lacking in forwards but will be better rested.
At 3pm Southampton head to Chelsea looking for their first win of the season as The Blues look to try and turn around a run of two straight defeats. And, in the late game on Saturday, Brighton host Arsenal at the Amex and both sides are potentially approaching a crossroads in their season already. But where’s Brian’s cash going on Saturday?
I think Manchester United are too short so for this game I’m not going to back them. They’ve only two days to prepare for this, Everton will be the fresher of the teams. The concern for Everton is that they’re missing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison for this one.
They could struggle to score goals. I think it’s going to be a low-scoring game, I’m going to go for The Draw, though. United are too short to back. I think Bruno Fernandes is going to step up and try and redeem himself. He’s bigger in the goal scorer markets than Cristiano Ronaldo so I’ll stick with Bruno Fernandes to Score Anytime.
Maybe Chelsea haven’t been as good as people were making out earlier on in the season but I think Chelsea Win this game. They’re playing Southampton who I fear for this season with four draws and two defeats. They’re struggling to score goals, they’ve only three goal scorers this season with a goal each.
We will find out a lot about Arsenal this weekend, we’ve always rated Brighton highly in Power Tower under Graham Potter. Not having a clinical striker has been their Achilles heel over the past couple of seasons. Neal Maupay has sorted that out this season, he’s scored four goals already including that big injury-time equaliser against Crystal Palace during the week.
He has history against Arsenal as well, he’s scored late winners against them before, he’d love to score against them again this weekend. I think he’s the best bet in the goal-scorer market. In the match betting my head is saying Arsenal can shade it with the confidence they have heading into this game, but not enough for me to back them. So, I’m just going to go for Neal Maupay to Score Anytime.

If you’re struggling to score goals you’ll definitely struggle against Chelsea. I think Chelsea to Win to Nil is the bet here. Romelu Lukaku is the obvious man to Score Anytime, especially with his good record against Southampton (nine goals).
