Sunday’s football fixtures should see plenty of fireworks. We have two derbies: In north London between Arsenal and Spurs and Rome between Roma and Lazio. We’ll also check out two of the in-form teams in Ligue Un where Marseille take on Lens.

Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona have now gone three games without a win – surely they can beat Levante though? But first, it’s the early kickoff in the Serie A where Juventus host Sampdoria.

11.30am: Juventus vs Sampdoria: Juventus to Win and BTTS

TV: BT Sport 1

Juventus have steadily been improving over their last three matches, beating Malmo 0-3 in the Champions League, drawing 1-1 with AC Milan and beating Spezia 2-3 midweek. They’re a long way from the finished product but the signs are there that Juventus could be back to their best over the coming weeks. Sampdoria share the same stats as Juve in the league, one win, two draws and two losses.

Samp have only won one of their last 10 matches away to Juventus, the home side winning seven and two level. Juve have won all six of the most recent encounters and Sampdoria have only scored in two of those six games. However, the Old Lady have failed to keep a single clean sheet over their last 10 home Serie A matches and with Sampdoria averaging a goal per game they should trouble Juve’s shaky defence. Both Teams to Score looks decent but Juventus are improving and they should make it seven from seven wins against Samp here.

3.15pm: Barcelona vs Levante: Under 3.5 Goals

TV: La Liga TV

Barcelona have played six games across all competitions this season, winning just two. Of their five La Liga games they’ve won two and drawn three, scoring eight and conceding five. Levante are pretty bad though, they’ve drawn four of their league games so far, losing two, scoring six and conceding nine. Barca have conceded at least one in seven of their last 10 home La Liga matches and manager Koeman needs to sort out their defensive problems quickly. Levante don’t make things easy though, they’ve scored in four of their last five away league matches and only opened the scoring in one of those four.

Barca are misfiring though, they’ve only scored more than two goals once so far this season and against Levante over their five most recent meetings at the Nou Camp in all competitions they’ve not scored more than three. The market is backing goals but based on recent form we have to go against that. Under 3.5 Goals is the pick here.

4.30pm: Arsenal vs Spurs: Both Teams to Score

TV: Sky Sports Premier League

Arsenal’s form looks deceptively good as they’ve won four of their seven games in all competitions. However, of those seven only Man City and Chelsea were actual challenges and they conceded seven goals over those two games, scoring none. Spurs have nine games under their belts so far with four wins, three losses and two draws (winning one on penalties). They’re pretty much as bad as each other and if you’re Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hoping the home crowd will give you an advantage then, well, you’re going to have to wait until at least 20 minutes in for them to have finished their skinny, oat-milk, pumpkin-spice lattes.

Spurs have a terrible record at the Emirates, over their last 10 visits in all competitions they’ve only come away with a single victory, Arsenal winning five and four level. The market is making Arsenal favourites here but neither side are really good enough to beat the other. That said, they’re certainly both bad enough to cock things up and lose. We’d like to back the draw but there are an awful lot of potential errors here, we’re going with the safer option of Both Teams to Score, a bet that has landed in six of the last seven PL meetings here.

5pm: Lazio vs Roma: Roma to Score Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 2

Roma haven’t beaten Lazio as the away side since 2016. Lazio have won three of the matches since then, two have ended level. The home side have won two, drawn two and lost one over their five Serie A games so far, scoring 12 and conceding seven. Roma have won four and lost one, scoring 12 and conceding five. Roma have won four of their last five overall fixtures, losing one, while Lazio have only won one of their last five, drawing two and losing two.

Over Roma’s eight games in all competitions they’ve scored at least two goals in seven of them and Lazio are never a side who are going to win any awards for the way they defend. We’re getting very decent value odds here for Roma to continue that goal-scoring trend.

7.45pm: Marseille vs Lens: Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 2

Marseille are unbeaten in the league this season, winning four and drawing two, scoring 12 and conceding five. Lens aren’t far behind them with three wins, three draws and one loss, scoring 11 and conceding eight.

Lens won this fixture last season but the Velodrome hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the away side. Over the last six fixtures there, Marseille won four of them and the other ended level. With both teams in great goal-scoring form and only one loss between them over their combined 13 league games, we’re liking the look of Over 2.5 goals here.
