Liverpool look back to their best after an injury-hit season last time out. Jurgen Klopp’s men host AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night – a rematch of their 2005 and 2007 Champions League finals.
It’s a historic game and we instantly go back to think of 2005 and 2007 but are AC Milan as good as they were back then? No. They are second in Serie A at the moment behind Roma on goal difference.
This isn’t the AC Milan of past and I do expect Liverpool to win. However, Milan do still have plenty of talent and I fancy them to score as well.
Liverpool’s Champions League group is fairly tough so they’ll need to play their strongest team. They’re at home and need to get off to a good start in the group stages.
I reckon we’re looking at a 2-1 Liverpool win and I fancy Diogo Jota to Score Anytime. He’s looked lively to start the season and he was sharp in the win at Leeds on Sunday.

AC Milan are off to a flyer in Serie A and they pulled off a great win against Lazio at the weekend. They’re obviously not as good as they used to be but they’re a quality team.
They’ll come with a lot of confidence but this is Liverpool’s first home Champions League game since the Atletico Madrid defeat. We all know how much of a difference having fans in Anfield makes on European nights.
Liverpool’s price to win might be a little short so I might look elsewhere but I do fancy them to win on Wednesday. Liverpool are one of the favourites to win the Champions League and I fancy getting behind them at a decent price.
In the top goalscorer market, Mo Salah makes a lot of sense. He’s on penalties and he rarely misses any big games. Liverpool will go far enough in this competition for Salah to win the Golden Boot.
