Thomas Tuchel’s impressive Chelsea tackle Aston Villa on Saturday evening and Paddy Power’s football ambassador Phil Thompson is here to guide us through the action. He’s got some fire support in the shape of our top football trader Jason Murphy, too.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

The lads think it’s going to be difficult for Villa to get any change out of this water-tight Blues defence. But, with Chelsea big favourites, where do Thommo and Jason think the value lies?

THOMMO

I’m sorry, I just don’t give Aston Villa any hope here at all. They’ve won two and drawn one, that first game against Watford they lost. I just don’t fancy Villa to upset Chelsea. Seeing Chelsea first hand two weeks ago against Liverpool, they do look very good.

They are going to give Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool a real run for their money. Romelu Lukaku has a great record against Aston Villa so he has that knack. Yes, it was with previous clubs but this Chelsea side are unbeaten for a long time when they’ve been leading at half time.

There’s something good about this side and at home they are exceptional and I just do not see Villa scoring against Chelsea’s defence having seen the unit at Anfield. Chelsea to Win to Nil. Jorginho takes all the penalty kicks and Chelsea get their fair share so Jorginho to Score Anytime would be an interesting bet.

JASON

After international breaks you have to wait for team news but if Lukaku starts he’s an obvious threat. He’s not actually always the man to score the goals. If you look at his record at Inter last season it was 20 goals and 11 assists.

The likes of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, they’re about 4/1 to get the first goal in a game that Chelsea are absolutely expected to dominate so I’d rather be on them at the bigger prices than Lukaku who will be much, much shorter. I think there’s value in backing the Romelu Lukaku Anytime Assist.
