England (-4)

Sandwiched between two away games against the strongest challengers in Group I, this home game against minnows Andorra represents a welcome change of pace for England. Gareth Southgate can afford to rotate his side entirely for this one, giving key players time to recuperate before a tricky assignment in Poland.

Regardless of what team Southgate picks, England should rack up a cricket score against the tiny principality. Andorra earned just their second competitive win in the last four years on Thursday night when they beat fellow minnows San Marino, but the chances of them repeating the feat against England three days later are not even worth considering.

Hungary and Poland both strolled to three-goal wins over Andorra earlier in Group I, while the Republic of Ireland also recorded their only win under Stephen Kenny against Andorra in June with a 4-1 win in Andorra La Vella.

England should at least replicate the 5-0 victory they secured against San Marino earlier in qualifying, regardless of what team Southgate opts for on Sunday.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Patrick Bamford to Score First

Bamford looks set to finally make his England debut against Andorra on Sunday and will be desperate to make a mark on his first appearance in international football. The Leeds forward was one of the best strikers in the league last season, scoring 17 goals and earning himself what once looked an unlikely place in Southgate’s squad.

He is the only out-and-out forward at Southgate’s disposal apart from Harry Kane, who will surely be rested ahead of a much more important game on Wednesday.

This sort of fixture is pretty much the closest thing to an international friendly since the introduction of the Nations League and Southgate should take full advantage by rotating his squad.

One of those to benefit should be Bamford, who celebrates his 28th birthday on Sunday. He can mark the double celebration of his international debut and his birthday by opening the scoring against inferior opposition.

Bukaya Saka to Score Anytime

Pretty much the whole of England will be willing Saka to find the back of the net at Wembley on Sunday following the abuse he suffered after missing the crucial penalty kick in the Euro 2020 final two months ago. Saka has received widespread support at grounds around the country since that penalty miss and will almost certainly start on Sunday evening.

The youngster has experienced a slow start to the season as part of an Arsenal squad that has plummeted to the foot of the Premier League table and will be desperate to rediscover his form as soon as possible.

Ironically, Saka celebrates his 20th birthday on Sunday and will be keen to kickstart his season with a morale-boosting first competitive goal for his country.

His mature displays at Euro 2020 belied his youth and inexperience on the international stage and he clearly has the ability to deliver against an incredibly limited Andorra.

Jesse Lingard to Score Anytime

Jesse Lingard’s omission from Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad raised eyebrows given his sparkling form with West Ham and the attackers will be keen to prove his manager wrong if he’s given a chance on Sunday night. Lingard faces stiff opposition for a starting berth at both club and international level and will probably need an eye-catching, goal-scoring performance on Sunday if he is to successfully get Southgate or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attention.

Lingard started on the right-wing against San Marino in March and is likely to do so again on Sunday. While he failed to score in that game, his performance was generally impressive and he is capable of scoring his first international goal in three years with a similar performance against Andorra.
