Weekend betting tips: Your tasty 26/1 Sunday acca for footy, F1, cricket & rugby

Our tipser Colin Harvey's a jack of all trades.

Ah Sunday, the day of rest. Or, 24 solid hours to kick back and cram as much sport into your eyeballs as humanly possible. If that sounds like your bag, you’re in the right place.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

That’s because I’ve rustled up a fiery four fold from a broad range of sports from morning ’til night that might just pocket you a few quid along the way. We’ve got some international T20 cricket for breakfast, a spot of F1 for lunch, some civilised rugby league for afternoon tea and an international-football nightcap to wash it all down.

These picks in an acca-insured four fold will give you odds of around 26/1 with Paddy Power. CLICK HERE TO ADD IT TO YOUR BETSLIP.

11am: Bangladesh v New Zealand – Bangladesh Highest 1st Partnership

New Zealand are pretty damn good at one-day cricket. However, they’re having a bit of a nightmare over in Bangladesh at the moment. They’ve got some of their big names missing and they’ve just not come to terms with the spinning surfaces in the Indian subcontinent so far.

Bangladesh are 2-0 up in this five-game T20 series and they wiped the floor with the tourists in the first match, skittling them for just 60 runs. It was closer in the second with the hosts claiming a four-run win, but Bangladesh to have the Highest Opening Partnership has landed in the first two T20s an we’re on it again here.

2pm: Dutch Grand Prix – Max Verstappen to Win

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports F1

A bit more straightforward this one as we put a big tick next to Max Verstappen to Win the Dutch Grand Prix. ‘What about Lewis Hamilton?’, I hear you cry. It’s a fair question.

However, the British great and current leader of the F1 standings is having a bit of a weekend of it with practice heavily disrupted by power issues in his Mercedes and a stop-start qualification session marred by crashes. Starting at the head of the pack, Verstappen doesn’t take much winding up and he’ll be hell bent on winning in front of his adoring public and making it two victories in a row – as long as he keeps his Red Bull on the track, that is.

3.15pm: Wigan v Warrington – Warrington Win by 1-12

TV: Sky Sports Arena

Off up north now for some Super League rugby action as Warrington head to Wigan in what looks set to be a feisty local derby. There was a time when this would have been a mere formality and a straightforward win for the hosts. Not any more.

Warrington sit above Wigan in the Super League table with a superior win percentage having played four fewer games than their old friends from up the M6. Even more remarkable, there’s an *ahem* 221 points difference swing in favour of Wolves. We’re backing Wolves to win by 1-12 points with the only worry seemingly being that they’ll outscore us here.

7.45pm: Switzerland v Italy – The Draw

TV: Sky Sports Football

I don’t know if you’ve heard or not but Italy won the Euros this summer. As yours truly is of the beaten-finalists’ persuasion I’ll be moving swiftly on. Anyway, you’d expect Italy to win this one, right? Maybe not.

Roberto Mancini’s self-proclaimed ‘group of good-looking lads’ haven’t won a match inside the 90 minutes for three games, including against Bulgaria at home on Thursday night. Switzerland are no mugs and have drawn two of their last three (against Spain and France) inside the 90. It might pay to back The Draw here and I will be doing just that.
