Awesome assists acca lands Paddy Power punter £8k from just a £5 stake

As Premier League players were putting goals on a plate for their teammates, our victor was heading for dreamland!

Saturdays don’t come much sweeter than when your Premier League flutter lands, but one punter’s bet on last weekend’s action in England’s top tier really has to be seen to be believed. That’s because our winner – who hails from Warwickshire – nailed a fantastic Anytime Assists accumulator that beat off odds of 1,616/1 to come in.

Having placed just a £5 stake on the plucky punt, our customer netted a tidy windfall of £8,085 when the final assist was served up! Not bad on a Saturday, eh? With the Premier League now firmly back in our lives again, our victor selected four players across last Saturday’s matches to lay on goals for their teammates and must have been bouncing when the bet came up at around 4.30pm. Let’s tell you how the cash was claimed.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

First up on the betslip was the dreaded early kick-off, as our punter picked Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City to bag an assist against Arsenal. There was no need to worry about the early kick-off hoodoo for bets though, Jesus did the business inside of just seven minutes as Pep Guardiola’s men routed an abysmal Arsenal side 5-0.

The Brazilian made the most of his new role out on the right to swing in a beautiful cross for Ilkay Gundogan to nod home the opener and then subsequently went on to grab a goal for himself on the stroke of half time as Man City piled the pressure even further on an embattled Mikel Arteta.

Next on the chopping block was a trip to Villa Park, for the first of our customer’s three selections in the 3pm kick-offs. Here our victor was backing on Villa new boy Danny Ings to turn provider for Dean Smith’s men, and he duly obliged after just 13 minutes against Brentford.

He did so as the home side needed to respond to Ivan Toney giving The Bees a shock lead with only seven minutes on the watch. Villa quickly reacted though, and some smart work in the corner from Ings helped him lay it on for fellow new signing Emiliano Buendia to smash home a cracker from the edge of the area.

Still inside the first half of the 3pm games, our winner was swiftly three-from-three after picking a red-hot Michail Antonio to set one up as West Ham entertained Crystal Palace at the London Stadium. It proved to be a savvy play as after just 39 minutes Antonio unselfishly squared the ball to Pablo Fornals to give The Hammers the lead going into half-time. Antonio also found the net himself in the game with a smashing half-volley in the second half, but a brace from the on-loan Chelsea man Conor Gallagher helped Patrick Vieira’s Eagles pinch a point in a thoroughly entertaining 2-2 draw.

Finally, our winner’s nerves had to be jangling as the watch started to tick down at Carrow Road without the Jamie Vardy assist that was required to bring the bumper bet home. Vardy actually gave The Foxes the lead just eight minutes into the contest, finishing wonderfully from a nice cut back from Ricardo Pereira. The home outfit were level right before half time as VAR got involved after Caglar Soyuncu took down Pierre Lees-Melou in the box and Teemu Pukki sent Kasper Schmeichel the wrong way with a confidently taken penalty.

But, thankfully, there was relief all around for as Vardy found Marc Albrighton on the right hand side of the box with 14 minutes left and his deflected effort nestled in the bottom corner of Tim Krul’s goal to give the Brendan Rodgers-led side a 2-1 away success, sending our victor into dreamland in the process.

With that final assist secured, the loot was landed and a tasty sum of £8,085 was winging its way to Warwickshire. Enjoy the winnings and welcome to our Punting Hall of Fame!
