Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is back once again to lock horns with our football trader Brian McDonnell and deliver some more top-flight tips. This time it’s the best of Sunday’s action getting the once over with Leeds heading to Burnley.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
These two were on fire last week and will be hoping to knock Paddy for six once again. So, what are the lads backing in the Premier League on Sunday?
2pm: Burnley v Leeds
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
BRIAN
It’s been a tough start for Burnley. I think there’s going to be goals in this one. Leeds have conceded seven in their opening two games, Burnley have conceded four so first and foremost I like Both Teams To Score in this one.
Burnley, we say, are traditionally tough to beat at Turf Moor, but if you look at last season they only won four games at home, they lost nine there, including a 4-0 defeat to Leeds. I think in this game Leeds just have better-quality players all over the park.
I thought Raphinha was brilliant last week against Everton, took his goal very well. He had a great chance towards the end of the game at Old Trafford as well. He’s a real talent. I think Leeds are going to Win this game and looking at the goal-scorer market I’m looking at Raphinha to Score Anytime again this weekend.
THOMMO
I think a few big things come into play with this game. Burnley have been poor at home, Brian is quite right. They’ve lost their last five home Premier League games. They’ve been slow starters now for the last couple of seasons. They lost their opening three last season, but I just fancy them.
Seeing them against Liverpool they had one or two chances. Who is the worst team for conceding at set plays? Leeds United. What to Burnley like to do? Make hay at these set pieces.
So I think that could make them very, very venerable. I’m going for the opposite of Brian, I’m actually going for a Burnley Win. I think Leeds have been a bit open and I think Leeds will take advantage of them. Both Teams to Score, and if you want a scorer, Chris Wood to Score Anytime for Burnley. Patrick Bamford to Score Anytime for Leeds for me.
