Both teams have hit the ground running in the Premier League, where they have won both of their opening games and many are expecting a match full of goals here. It must be said that these can be pretty tight affairs though. Over the last five meetings between the pair at Anfield, both teams have won two games each, with one ended level. Both Teams to Score landed in three of those games, while Over 2.5 goals landed in just two.
Looking at the five most recent home Premier League games for Liverpool, four of them ended with Under 2.5 goals. Meanwhile, in Chelsea’s last 10 away league ties, Overs has only landed in four. With two of the best defences going up against each other here ,we could very well be in for a low-scoring affair. As football fans we all want to see plenty of goals, but as bettors we have to go with the value here.
Bayern put 12 goals past poor Bremer SV midweek in the cup, and they’re going to be eager to continue that scoring streak against Hertha Berlin here. Bayern have played four domestic games this season, winning three and drawing one. Hertha have played three, winning their opening cup game, but have lostboth of their Bundesliga games since then. However, they did at least score in both of those losses.
Last season we were able to exploit Bayern’s shoddy defensive abilities, where Bayern to Win and Both Teams To Score was a pretty normal bet, and things don’t look to have changed much even with Julian Nagelsmann taking over the reins. Bayern have conceded in seven of his eight matches in charge, and Hertha have put five goals past Bayern over their last two visits to the Allianz.
This will only be the fifth meeting between the sides here since 2015 and unsurprisingly, Juventus have won all four previous meetings – all of which saw Under 2.5 Goals occurring and Both Teams To Score: No landing too. Juve blew it last week in their opening Serie A fixture, leading 0-2 up to 53 minutes, they threw away their lead and ended up drawing 2-2 with Udinese. Elsewhere, Empoli were soundly beaten 1-3 at home to Lazio.
Of course, Empoli made their way back to the Serie A thanks to winning the Serie B playoffs last season, but they didn’t score a huge amount on the road last term – averaging 1.11 goals per away game. Juve, for their part, have conceded 0.95 on average at home last season. With Massimo Allegri back in charge at the Old Lady that defensive steel will come back into the team and it’s hard to make a case for Empoli scoring here.
Since 2016 Real have won four of the last five league meetings at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. Betis won’t be too happy with their start to the La Liga campaign, where they’ve drawn both of their games so far.
Real won their opening game away to Alaves and drew 3-3 away to Levante last weekend. This will be their third away game in-a-row and won’t play at home until after the international break. Betis were pretty decent at home last season, winning 10 of their 19 games – scoring 1.42 goals per game on average.
Real won 12 of their 19 away games, losing just one and over their final eight away league games last season, they conceded at least one in five of them. With Real having already conceded four this season, we’re confident of Betis getting at least one here. However, we can’t argue with their impressive record away to Betis.
