20:00: Monaco v Shakhtar Donetsk – Over 2.5 Goals

Monaco have played four games so far this season, winning two, drawing one and losing one. Shakhtar are six games into their season where they’ve won five and lost one. Both teams have won both of their respective Champions League games so far.

The market has heavily sided with the home team here but we think the focus should be on goals. Over their five most recent home games in all competitions, Over 2.5 goals has landed in four of them for Monaco. For Shakhtar, it has also landed in four of their five most recent competitive games.

Former Bayern manager Niko Kovac has got this Monaco side playing some nice football again and the squad is full of potential goals. Shakhtar don’t really know how to play defensive football and they certainly have the better experience at this stage of the tournament. There should be plenty of goals in this one.

20:00: RB Salzburg v Brondby – Salzburg to Win and BTTS

Salzburg are massive favourites to do the business here. The Austrians have started their domestic season by winning all four of their league games so far. This will be their first European action this season though. Brondby have played five league games this season, drawing three and losing two and this will also be their first game in Europe this season.

Salzburg have scored 31 goals over their last 10 competitive games at home, they’re ridiculously strong at home but they have a weakness at the back. Of those 10 games they only kept four clean sheets and Brondby for all their troubles and lack of good results of late are still scoring goals.

Indeed, the Danish side have six goals over their five league games and have scored at least one goal in eight of their last 10 on the road. Salzburg to Win is almost a given but their defence is far from perfect, the value is with Salzburg to Win and BTTS here.

20:00: Sheriff Tiraspol v Dimano Zagreb – BTTS

Sheriff have played three league games this season, winning two and losing one but have six CL games under their belt so far, winning five and drawing one. Zagreb have played four league games this campaign, winning two, drawing one and losing one and in the Champions League have also played six, also winning five and drawing one.

At home Sheriff are a strong outfit, they’ve scored 25 goals over their last 10 competitive matches but they only kept three clean sheets over those 10 games. Zagreb are almost as good in front of goal on their travels, scoring a total of 21 over their 10 most recent competitive matches on the road. Tough one to call here so we’re going with the safer option of Both Teams to Score.

20:00: Crvena Zvezda v Cluj – Crvena Zvezda to Win

Crvena Zvezda are four games into their domestic league where they’ve won three and drawn one. They’ve had four European games, winning one, drawing one and losing two. Cluj have taken maximum points in their domestic league, 15 points from their five games so far. They’ve played six games in Europe, winning three, drawing one and losing two.

Crvena Zvezda are pretty strong at home, they’re unbeaten over their last five on home turf, scoring eight and conceding just one. Cluj have won three of their last five on their travels, losing the other two and really Crvena Zvezda’s strong defence is what should make all the difference here. We’re backing the home side to keep Cluj at bay for the first leg at least.
