Kane buys Man City kit in case of last-minute Spurs switch

Still a Spurs player, but things change

Harry Kane was spotted coming out of Sports Direct earlier today having purchased a complete 2021-22 Manchester City strip and heighten speculation of a possible summer move to the defending Premier League champions.

Kane has been the subject of wild transfer gossip since handing in a transfer request prior to Euro 2020 then failing to turn up on time for pre-season training with Spurs, and it looks as though the England skipper is chomping at the bit to get make the switch to the North West where he would team up with his Three Lions mucker, Jack Grealish.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

“You have to be ready and have all bases covered,” explained Kane to an innocent bystander, “I wanted to make sure I had a City strip ready in case Levy wants to get rid of me before our opening game.”

Spurs host the champions on Sunday and a confused Kane still seems unsure which dressing-room he’ll be getting changed in.

“I’ll make sure I put a change of clothes in both” he went on to explain, “And also some toiletries in case I have to go back to Manchester with Pep and the lads on Sunday night. I facetimed Jack (Grealish) a couple of days ago to ask him if he’ll bring down a spare tracksuit too.”

If City want to sign Kane then they’ll have to eclipse the £100M they’ve just forked out for Grealish, whose Birmingham roots ensured that the minute he put pen to paper on a lucrative deal at the Etihad Stadium, the marketing team would then have to try to fit in a some promotional material along the lines of hit TV show Peaky Blinders.

“I was earmarked for that photoshoot too” declared Kane, “I’d already been in my grandad’s wardrobe and nicked his best flat cap and Crombie coat and I really looked the business. I was so envious of Jack and the other lads as Peaky Blinders is my second favourite tv show after Love Island.”

There’s an air of uncertainty around Tottenham Hotspur on the eve of the new campaign with new (fifth choice) manager Nuno Espirito Santo also in the dark about whether he’ll be able to call on Kane’s services for Sunday’s opener;

“Levy tells me nothing” explained the Portuguese tactician as he was coming out of his local Waitrose earlier this week, “All I can tell you is that we’ve had Harry playing for us and against us in training, just in case any deal gets signed off before Sunday.

“Who knows,” he declared as he headed for the click and collect area, “We might even sell him at half-time!!”
