7pm: Benfica v Casa Pia – Both Teams To Score? No

Benfica will be hoping for a better season in 2021/22 after they finished third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga last term, taking the final Champions League qualification spot. They take on Casa Pia from the second division in a home friendly on Friday night.

New to Paddy Power?

Obviously Benfica are overwhelming favourites and I can’t believe the price we’re getting on Both Teams To Score? No here. Benfica conceded well under a goal a game in the top flight and Casa Pia could only manage a 9th placed finish in the second tier. Expect total domination from whatever team Benfica put out tonight.

7pm: Kings Lynn v Norwich – Under 3.5 Goals

5th tier Kings Lynn host Premier League Norwich at The Walks today looking to avoid a shellacking and get in some much-needed defensive practice ahead of the new season. The Norfolk non-leagers actually finished in the relegation zone in the National League but were saved due to the controversial agreement that no-one would go down from that division after another Covid-hit season.

Norwich will be looking to just get minutes into the legs while Kings Lynn will be trying hard to keep them at bay. The Canaries are not going to be going hell for leather here and anything smaller than a 4-0 win will do it for us as we back Under 3.5 Goals.

Valerien Ismael

7pm: Raith v Hibernian – Under 2.5 Goals

Championship side Raith host the Premiership’s Hibernian, with Hibs in high spirits after humbling the faded football team turned TV sideshow Arsenal on Tuesday. Raith have a decent campaign last season, finishing 3rd and just missing out on some playoff action.

Hibs themselves came 3rd in the Premiership, finishing 14 points behind Celtic in 2nd and 39 off champions Rangers. Hibs are clearly the better side but I’m backing Raith to put up a good show here. Under 2.5 Goals is a good price and is well worth taking a chance on.

7.45pm: Woking v West Brom – Both Teams to Score? No

Martin Tyler’s (yes that one) Woking Town (well, he’s the assistant manager) had, like Kings Lynn, a tough season in the National League, finishing 20th last term. They host a West Brom are preparing for life back in the 2nd tier under new manager Valerien Ismael after their relegation from the Premier League in 2020/21.

I think we’re going to get something very similar to the Kings Lynn v Norwich match with the hosts just working to keep the score down while the big boys fine tune some fitness and give as many people as possible minutes. Don’t expect to see Woking breach The Baggies so Both Teams to Score? No is the way to go here.
