A Liverpool fan has been taken to hospital after suffering a broken finger during a Twitter rant about Jordan Henderson not starting for England.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Jimmy Jones, (19), a Liverpool season ticket holder and part of the highly vocal and very amusing ‘scouse not English’ brigade, is understood to have been so enraged that Henderson is being kept out of the England starting XI by Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips that his online attack on Gareth Southgate’s selection left him with a painful, but luckily for him, non-life-threatening injury.

“Hendo is 10 times the player Rice is, he’s the complete package and deserves a start. I’m sure Southgate only keeps him on the bench because he plays for us. Everybody hates us but we don’t care,” Jimmy told Paddy Power News from a hospital bed with his finger in a bandage.

Wrong man for the job

Despite the obvious unity, togetherness and quality within the England set up, young Jimmy seemed adamant that Southgate is the wrong man for the job, referring to him as “clueless”, a “yes man” and a “Liverpool hater”.

“A real leader wouldn’t be afraid to make Henderson captain, call up Nat Phillips and drop Harry Kane for Robbie Fowler. Not this guy though, he has no idea what he’s doing. I’m so glad I’m scouse not English. Walk on, walk on….”

Paddy Power News can confirm that Jimmy was discharged from hospital this morning with no long-term damage done. Doctors have recommended he stays off social media for the next two weeks to avoid risk of further injury.

Three Lions

Ahead of the final this Sunday, rumours have circulated that former England captain, John Terry, will be in the stands in his full England kit, including boots and shin-pads, ready to take to the pitch should the Three Lions go on to win the trophy.

Having spoken to Terry’s wife, she confirmed that John is “keen to get in on the action with the lads,” just as he did with the Chelsea squad back in 2012.
