Rome has been the scene of some of the greatest battles in human history, but this Euro 2020 quarter final may not make the history books. England are heavy favourites to beat a plucky Ukraine side, who needed a late extra time winner to beat an unfancied Sweden outfit – who were playing with 10-men – last time out.

Given that Andriy Shevchenko’s men have already been beaten by The Netherlands and Austria at this tournament, it’s easy to see where those odds are coming from. However, we’ll just flag that Ukraine have outlasted those two teams in this tournament and don’t be surprised if they give The Three Lions a bit of a scare here.

ITV / RTÉ Two

For their part, Gareth Southgate’s gladiators have already slayed one of their biggest demons already at this tournament, after beating Germany in a knockout game at a major tournament for the first time since 1966. There have been seven meetings in international competitions (we are not counting Azteca 2000 Tournament or the US Cup, sorry folks) since that glorious day in Wembley, so it’s fair to say England were due to get one over on the Germans.

Nevertheless, it was a very good performance from The Three Lions and the draw has opened up for them because of it. But, let’s get down to business and give you the tips that you are here for. We grabbed the data-packed info from Andy Robson’s cheat sheet for you and here are a fab foursome of picks for you to whack in your betslip.

England To Win

It might actually be coming home! This will be England’s only game away from Wembley in Euro 2020 and they will fancy their chances against the side ranked 24 in the world. Southgate’s men are the only nation now not to have conceded a goal in their four matches and we can’t see past another comfortable victory for The Three Lions here.

Taras Stepanenko To Be Carded

Taras Stepanenko has conceded an average of 1.32 fouls per game, but surprisingly has escaped a booking at the tournament thus far. However, with cards being wiped at the end of the round, he won’t be holding back from any challenges in Rome. Stepanenko will also have to deal with the skilled and pacey English attack, which may catch the 31-year-old out and bring him to the attention of the referee.

Jack Grealish To Have An Anytime Assist

Jack Grealish simply has to start after the impact he made against Germany, coming on to lay Englan’s second goal on a plate for Harry Kane. The Aston Villa captain has two assists in the 116 minutes he has played at the Euros so far, and we reckon he will add to that in the Italian capital.

Harry Kane To Have 2 Or More Shots On Target

We believe Harry Kane’s goal against Germany will have given the England captain a much needed confidence boost and he will kick on against Ukraine here. Kane averages 0.93 shots on target per match on the cheat sheet, but is much closer to two for his club in the 2020/21 Premier League season. Despite the criticism he has faced in recent weeks, he is still England’s most lethal attacker.
