To Rome for the next stop on England’s ‘It’s Coming Home’ tour.

After beating Germany in a knockout match for the first time in 55 years, the Three Lions face Ukraine in the Euro 2020 quarter-finals.

England will fancy their chances of reaching the final as they’re on the easier side of the draw but Ukraine showed their mettle to beat Sweden in extra time of their last-16 tie.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

The two countries have not faced each other since a World Cup qualification stalemate in September 2013 so there’s been a turnover of talent in that time.

Gareth Southgate’s side will have to make do with little support in the stands as fans have been barred from travelling to Italy due to coronavirus restrictions.

Could it make a difference? Who knows but the English will be partying into the night if they progress. You can find all the information you need for England v Ukraine below.

England v Ukraine Kick-Off Time

England face Ukraine at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday July 3. The Euro 2020 quarter-final match is scheduled to kick off at 8pm BST.

It could be a long night if the game goes to extra time and penalties.

England v Ukraine Team News

Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell have reintegrated with the England squad after being forced to self-isolate for 10 days due to their close contact with Scotland ace Billy Gilmour, who tested positive for COVID-19.

Southgate’s has a fully-fit squad to choose form and his greatest dilemma is whether to stick with three at the back or revert to the 4-3-3 formation used in the group stage.

A tactical switch would likely see Kyle Walker or Kieran Trippier drop out with Mount, Jack Grealish or Phil Foden set to come in.

Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, Harry Maguire and Foden will all need to be on their best behaviour as one more booking would rule them out of any potential semi-final.

Ukraine striker Artem Besedin suffered a serious knee injury from the follow through of Marcus Danielson’s strong tackle in the last-16 tie at Hampden Park.

Sub Artem Dovbyk scored Ukraine’s extra-time winner at the death and could come into the XI.

England v Ukraine Prediction

Former England international Phil Thompson has picked out three best bets and is backing the Three Lions to roar their way into the semi-finals.

“England will probably go with a back four and this game needs a Jack Grealish or a Phil Foden. They will be facing a blanket defence as Ukraine will play five at the back,” Thommo told Paddy Power News.

“England will need someone to open them up. In training this week, they will have to work on how to break down that five-man defence.

“I’m going with England to Win to Nil and Harry Kane to Score Anytime. He got his goal against Germany and hopefully he’ll continue that form and net against Ukraine. If I had to pick a scoreline, I’d back England to Win 2-0.”
