United draft in Michel Barnier to complete Sancho transfer negotiations

Deal should be finalised sometime around 2034

Manchester United have approached Michel Barnier to assist with negotiations over the transfer of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The Glazer family believe the former Brexit chief negotiator is the man to finally bring an end to the protracted saga which has rumbled on for nearly 12 years.

Barnier’s first task will be lock Ed Woodward and John Murtough in a different room whilst the talks take place.

And with the 70-year-old Frenchman now leading the negotiations, United are confident of landing Sancho before his 40th birthday.

The Red Devils had their latest offer of twenty quid and crate of Vimto rejected by the German outfit last week.

Paddy Power News understands Barnier is prepared to increase United’s bid to twenty-five quid, a crate of Vimto and a Coronation Street box set signed by Simon Gregson who plays Steve McDonald in the soap.

‘It’s take it or leave it time. Except, we all know they won’t take it and United sure as f**k won’t leave it’, a club source told PPN.

‘The Glazers have finally abandoned Ed Woodward’s tried and test policy of subjecting multiple derisory bids to piss the other club off until the transfer window shuts’.

‘They hope Barnier’s participation in the Brexit negotiations will help prepare him for the saga commonly known as the “Jadon Sancho to United transfer”’.

‘He should feel at home at United who themselves like to painfully exit Europe every season’.

Barnier’s appointment was announced a short while ago on Manchester United’s website with a video in which the Task Force 50 negotiator played La Marseillaise on a grand piano.

Meanwhile, Sancho is changing his name to Mason Mount by deed poll in the hope of getting into the England starting eleven for their Group D clash with Czech Republic.

The 21-year-old was spotted leaving the National Deed Poll Office with a receipt for £42 and documentation certifying his new identity.
