Spain To Win And Over 2.5 Goals

I’m very confident about Spain’s chances of beating Poland in this game. I know they drew 0-0 with Sweden in their opening game, but they should have won it 3-0 or 4-0. They had the chance to put the Swedes away, but couldn’t get them past the keeper. If any of their numerous chances were an inch either side, they could have gone on to win that game quite comfortably.

Poland were a very defensive team under Jerzy Brzeczek, but changed their manager at the start of the year to Paulo Sousa to make them a more attacking unit, and it’s just not working for them at all.

The Poles were really poor against Slovakia to begin with, and the red card eventually contributed to their defeat. They’ve also had a bit of a trek to get to Seville after previously playing in Russia, whereas Spain have been able to rest up near the venue, handing the advantage even more to the home side.

Spain’s preparation for the Sweden game was torn apart due to Covid issues in the squad. If they get similar chances against Poland I expect them to take a few of them, given that they should be sharper for this second game in Group E.

Gerard Moreno To Score First

There is a lot of pressure in the press on Spain manager Luis Enrique to drop Alvaro Morata after the striker missed a hatful of chances against Sweden last time out. Gerard Moreno has had a fantastic season for Villarreal, and he needs to start this game for the home outfit.

When Moreno came on for Morata towards the end of the previous game, he looked far livelier and made chances for himself. Moreno just had a real spark about him, and I would have him in Spain’s front three. If you see Moreno in Spain’s starting line-up on Saturday evening, then you have to back him. His penalty record for Villarreal is also excellent, so that is an added string to his bow.
