New to Paddy Power?
On Wednesday night we have one of the big European finals to look forward to when Villareal take on Manchester United in the Europa League in Gdansk. We’ll also be looking at the first leg of the Bundesliga Relegation/Promotion Playoff where FC Koln host Holstein Kiel. Finally we turn our attention to the Copa Libertadores where Boca Juniors and The Strongest are fighting it out for a place in the next round of the competition.
Wednesday 5.30pm: FC Koln v Holstein Kiel: Koln to Win & BTTS
Koln had put in a good run of results towards the end of the season to avoid automatic relegation, they lost just one of their final five fixtures, winning three and drawing one. Their home form wasn’t bad either, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their last six. Both Teams to Score landing in five of them, Over 2.5 goals in four.

BT Sport 2
Holstein too had been on a good run but blew automatic promotion with two losses to finish the season. They had won four in-a-row prior. Their away form is bad though, winning just one of their last six on their travels, losing four and drawing one. BTTS and Overs landed in four of those six. Koln’s form is obviously superior here and while Holstein’s away form isn’t great they were averaging 1.53 away goals over the season. Koln to Win and BTTS has the value here.
Wednesday 8pm: Villarreal v Man United: Both Teams to Score
United are the strong favourites here but both teams come into this match with the same stats regarding recent results. Over their last five matches both have won two, drawn one and lost two. The Spanish side’s Europa League form has been outstanding, winning eight of their last nine, drawing the other one. United have only played eight in the competition this season, winning five, drawing two and losing one.

BT Sport 1, BT Sport Ultimate and BT Sport YouTube
Tough not to see Villareal scoring here, they’ve got at least one in 18 of their last 20 matches in all competitions. The same stat has seen United scoring in 17 of their last 20 matches. Both Teams to Score is the obvious choice here and at decent odds especially considering those stats.
Thursday 1am: Boca v The Strongest: Boca to Win & BTTS
Both teams can qualify for the next round here, a draw would do for Boca but if Santos beat Barcelona (no, not that one) they’ll be out. The Strongest need the win either way and Boca won’t be able to depend on an already-qualified Barcelona. The Argentine side aren’t in the best of shape, they’ve won just one of their last five games, drawing two but winning one on penalties. At home things are better where they’ve won five of their last seven, drawing two (winning one on pens).
The Strongest have won three of their last five matches, losing the other two. Away from home they’ve won two, drawn one and lost two. They’ll be desperate to restore some pride here after two awful away showings so far in the competitions but Boca’s quality should shine through. Boca to Win and BTTS is the pick here.
