NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Manchester United v Roma

I think this should be an exciting game, just judging by Roma’s record. They’re 7th in Serie A this year but no team in the top 10 has conceded more goals than them. They were quite fortunate to get by Ajax in the previous round where Ajax dominated the tie, missing a fair few chances.

I think we can expect United to create plenty here. It wasn’t surprising to me that United struggled at the weekend without Edinson Cavani in the starting line up. He just really adds a focal point to their attack in terms of his link up play and sniffing out chances in the box.

Thursday 8pm: Man Utd v Roma
BT Sport 2 and BT Sport Ultimate

He’s a level above Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, etc. With Cavani returning to the starting line up, that’s where I’m looking here for a bet. He’s in great form and sored in his last three matches before a sub appearance against Leeds. I think Cavani to Score Anytime looks reasonable value and he can expose a fairly poor Roma backline here.

I think United will win this game. The teams that game them the most trouble in this Europa League campaign was AC Milan. I think Roma aren’t nearly as good as Milan. With United resting Paul Pogba and Cavani at the weekend I think they’ll really be going for this game and I expect United to Win.

Villarreal v Arsenal

This is more interesting that it sounds with Unai Emery coming back to his former club. But I do think this is an interesting Villarreal team who are 7th in La Liga, which doesn’t sound great, but their xG statistics suggest they’re kind of a similar level to Sevilla and Real Madrid who are in contention for the league.

I think this might be a more difficult match for Arsenal than Villarreal’s league position suggests. Emery has great form in this competition as well, winning it three times with Sevilla.

Thursday 8pm: Villarreal v Arsenal
BT Sport 3

He’ll obviously be hugely motivated to come through here. You’d be a little worried for Arsenal that their left back Kieran Tierney’s out and he’s hugely important for them. Also, the two best finishers at the club in Alex Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang are both absent.

That said, I would lean towards Villarreal for the match but in terms of a bet I would be more confident in Gerard Moreno to Score Anytime. He’s behind only Leo Messi and Karim Benzema in terms of top La Liga goal scorer and he’s second in the Europa League top scorers with six goals and I think he looks a reasonable bet to find the net here.
