For Thursday night’s European football we’re taking a look at a couple of matches involved in the title race in Spain. In Portugal we’ll also be looking at a match involving one of the top two and Italy as well where two teams are fighting it out for European places. Plenty to chew over here and we’ve found some value as well. Let’s start off with the first match of the evening where La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid take on relegation-threatened Huesca.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

6pm: Atletico Madrid vs Huesca: Atletico to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0

Atletico just keep stumbling on, they’ve let a massive lead at the top of La Liga slip over the last few weeks but they’re still hanging on at the top of the league, currently three points above Real Madrid at the time of writing. They’re not in the best of form, winning two of their last five in the league, drawing two and losing one. At home, things are better though where they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one. Huesca’s form isn’t bad, they’re fighting for their La Liga survival and have to chalk up as many points as possible between now and the end of the season to stay up.

Over their last five matches they’ve won two, drawn one and lost two. Over their five most recent away matches in the league, they’ve won one, drawn one and lost three. Atletico have kept three clean sheets over their last five in La Liga and conceded just 0.56 goals per home league match. The home side are short-odds favourites to win here but we can exploit their mighty home defence, we’re backing Atletico to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0.

7.45pm: Napoli vs Lazio: Both Teams to Score No Draw

Both Napoli and Lazio are just outside the Champions League places going into this match, a win for Napoli would put them into fourth, above Juventus, while a win for Lazio would put them on 61 points, one above Napoli. Both are obviously running out of games now and need to go all out to get into the last of the Champions League places.

Napoli haven’t lost at home to Lazio since 2015, enjoying a run of five wins and one draw against them in all competitions at home since then. Over those seven meetings Over 2.5 goals has landed in five and Both Teams to Score also occurred in five. Napoli’s home form is strong too, they’ve won five of their last six, drawing the other one. Lazio have lost three of their last five on the road, winning two. Napoli’s strong record against them at home should see them winning but Lazio are more than capable of pulling off a surprise. The value here is with Both Teams to Score No Draw.

MORE TIPS FOR TODAY:

9pm: Porto vs Guimaraes: Porto to Win to Nil

Porto currently lag six points behind Sporting at the top of the Primeira Liga. They’re enjoying a great run of late, having won six of their last seven matches in all competitions and face a Guimaraes side who have won just one of their last six in the league.

Looking at Porto’s home form they’ve won three and drawn two of their last five league matches, keeping three clean sheets. Guimaraes’ results on the road have seen them drawing one and losing four of their five most recent matches, failing to score in three of them. Porto to Win to Nil has the value here.

9pm: Barcelona vs Getafe: Barcelona to Win to Nil

Having a game in hand over both Real Madrid and Atletico, Barcelona find themselves five points behind Atletico and should other results go their way they could find themselves just two points behind the leader if they take all three points here. Getafe have never won at the Nou Camp and that’s unlikely to change here.

Over their last five visits there they’ve failed to score in four of those matches and have failed to score in four of their last La Liga matches and in four of their last five on their league travels as well. Barcelona to Win to Nil is the obvious way to go here.
