Football tips: Man Utd to breeze past Granada in Europa League showdown

Manchester United welcome Granada to Old Trafford on Thursday night for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie. The Red Devils are 2-0 up and the market has them as short-odds favourites to beat the Spanish side again.

They’re also favourites to lift the trophy in Gdansk at the end of May and no doubt the odds will drop even further once they’ve qualified for the semifinals.

First though back to the match, United still have to do the business on the night and we’ve found the three Best Bets for what should be yet another home Manchester United win.

Man United to Win & Both Teams to Score

The market isn’t expecting Granada to get on the scoresheet at Old Trafford but if we look at their away performances they’ve scored in all 12 of their most recent fixtures on the road. They’ve played seven away matches over their Europa League campaign so far this season and have scored at least one away goal in six of them.

Looking at United’s record of clean sheets, they’ve conceded in three of their last five at Old Trafford and over their five home European matches this season (Champions & Europa League) they’ve also conceded in three. No doubt it’s going to be tough for Granada but the Spaniards have no option but to attack here and their record suggests they should be good for at least one.

United though are enjoying a great run of form at home where they’ve lost just two of their last 15 in all competitions and only one of their last 18 home/away matches.

They should have more than enough to come out on top here and the odds for this bet are too good to say no to.

Half-time Draw

While the onus will be on the visiting side to take the game to United, the hosts have shown over recent weeks that they don’t get all that flustered during the opening 45 minutes of matches, scoring just one first-half goal in their last five. They’ve played five Europa League matches so far this season and only two of them saw a goal before the break. Four of their last five home matches have all been level at half time as well.

Granada don’t do much of their business in the first-half of matches either it has to be said. Over their five most recent away matches they only scored one in the first period. With those records it’s difficult to see the net rustling much in the first half and we should see the scoreline remaining level until the half-time break here.

Bruno Fernandes to Score Anytime

It’s tempting to go with Marcus Rashford here too. Since coming back from injury he’s bagged two in three matches and while not up to full sharpness yet he’s looked lively and eager to finish the season well. Bruno Fernandes though has been Mr Dependable for the Red Devils this season. The Portuguese midfielder has 16 goals in 31 Premier League appearances and has seven over his 11 European matches.

He’s not scored in the league since early March but got one against Granada in the first leg of this tie last week and with such an impressive European tally, as well as being on penalties and freekicks, we’re liking the price of him to get on the scoresheet here.
