Granda welcome Manchester United to the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes on Thursday night for the first leg of their Europa League quarter final tie. Granada aren’t in great shape having lost all three of their most recent fixtures while United have only lost one of their last 15 games.

The market has been heavily siding with the away side since it opened but Granada have upset a few big names over the season so far and United will need to be wary. Let’s have a deep dive into the stats and find the Three Best Bets for this Europa League quarter final.

Man United to Win & Both Teams to Score

Granada are one of those really awkward sides to play, they just don’t seem to ever give in and are always ready to pounce on mistakes made by their opponents. It’s been a bit of a step up for them in the Europa League this season, their first time ever qualifying for European competition, but they’ve beaten some decent sides along the way; PSV, Molde and Napoli among them. They’re rarely kept scoreless at home, just four times over their last 15 matches, one of which was against a resurgent Barcelona.

Thursday 8pm: Granada v Manchester United
BT Sport 2

United should have more than enough to come out on top here. Hands down they have the better players talent-wise and in terms of experience at the European level. They’ve won four of their last six matches overall and have only lost one of their seven Europa League matches so far this season.

Add to this the fact that United have lost just one of their last 10 away matches in all competitions and it’s hard not to see them coming out on top here. We could back the shorter odds in the Home/Draw/Away market but Granada’s record of goals at home should see them getting at least one here and we can exploit that to get better value odds with Man Utd to Win and Both Teams To Score.

Bruno Fernandes to Score Anytime

With Anthony Martial out for the coming weeks and Marcus Rashford being a doubt for this match, the goals are going to have to come from elsewhere. Edison Cavani, for all his good play, has only scored seven goals over his 24 games for the Red Devils and were it not for Bruno Fernandes’ goals, United would be enjoying quite a different season.

The Portuguese midfielder has 16 in 30 Premier League appearances, one in three in the FA Cup and four in six in the Europa League. He’s proven time and again that he’s both ruthless under pressure and a consistent source of goals and with him on penalties and freekicks as well we’re liking the price on Fernandes to Score Anytime here.

Half Time: Draw

Both sides here don’t usually do much of the heavy lifting in the first half of matches. Coincidently, both teams have scored 62% of their league goals this season in the second period of play.

Over Granada’s six most recent matches at home three of them were level at halftime and looking at Man United’s six most recent away games four of them have also been level at halftime. The halftime draw being available at around Evens at the time of writing represents some pretty good value and it’s making our list.
