18:00 Mallorca vs Leganes – Yes

A busy night in store in Spain’s Segunda Division, and hopefully there will be plenty of goals about. First up is the early kick off at Son Moix as Mallorca host fellow high-flyers Leganes. A win can put Mallorca back on top of the division, while their opponents are looking to solidify their position in the playoffs. These teams drew 1-1 in this fixture last season and I can see a similar outcome here as both teams look evenly matched.

Mallorca have struggled on the road lately, so manager Luis García will be delighted to return home so they can get their promotion push back on track. Leganes drew their last match away at Almeria 1-1, before that they beat Real Oviedo 3-1 in their last away game. They are a decent team away from home and this looks like a both teams to score banker.

20:00 Las Palmas vs Lugo – Yes

We stay in the Segunda Division for this battle in Gran Canaria. Las Palmas need to start winning games if they are to mount a late challenge for promotion. Lugo are in dreadful form, and are without a victory in their last nine games, losing four. They have been plummeting down the table.

With both teams needing a result for different reasons, this could lead to a more open than usual game. Las Palmas are rock solid at home, winning eight and drawing three of their 15 starts.

It is also notable that despite being in terrible form, Lugo have scored in their last six away games. The hosts should be too good here, but Lugo are capable of finding the net and rewarding ‘Yes’ backers.

20:30 Real Zaragoza vs FC Cartagena – Yes

Our final game in the Segunda Division comes from the Estadio de la Romareda as Real Zaragoza host FC Cartagena in a real relegation six pointer. Real Zaragoza have been in decent form over the last month, claiming seven points from their last four league matches. And they will be looking to ease their relegation fears against a FC Cartagena outfit that lie second from bottom and are in a terrible run of form.

Zaragoza’s upturn in form has seen them score in their last four games, and they should have no problems scoring in this. They have however only kept two clean sheets in their last eight games and with Cartagena drinking in the last chance saloon, I expect the visitors to keep Zaragoza’s poor defensive form going.

19:45 Dumbarton v Airdrieonians – Yes

From Spain to Scotland for our final game, and it’s the League One clash between Dumbarton and Airdrieonians. The hosts have struggled lately and find themselves second from bottom, just two points above the dreaded relegation trapdoor. They did however beat Airdreonians 2-0 away back in October, so perhaps today’s visitors could provide the spark Dumbarton need to start pulling away from trouble.

Thursday, 19.45: Dumbarton v Airdrieonians

The visitors find themselves in mid-table, just four points above Dumbarton and will be eager to maintain this cushion. This is a fixture that has traditionally provided goals, with 17 goals scored in the last six clashes between them. Both teams have enough question marks over their defence and backing both teams to score looks the sensible option.
