Barcelona v PSG

8pm – BT Sport 3

UEFA Champions League action is back with a bang on Tuesday in this one as Barcelona host PSG in the first leg of their Round of 16 clash. Barcelona have blown hot and cold this season but are in excellent form in La Liga with seven consecutive league victories, while also scoring 20 goals. The worry is their poor form in knockout games.

PSG are second in Ligue 1 and are without Neymar for Tuesday’s match which is a major blow to Mauricio Pochettino. However, they are in good form, with PSG currently unbeaten in their last four and scoring eight goals.

Head to head, Barcelona have a good record against PSG, winning four of the last nine encounters. PSG have managed to win just two of those games.

The previous meeting between the sides finished 6-1 to Barcelona at the Camp Nou and will live long in the memory. Two European giants are on show on Tuesday and I expect plenty of goal-mouth action.

RB Leipzig v Liverpool

8pm – BT Sport 2

Due to coronavirus restrictions RB Leipzig and Liverpool’s last 16 tie will be held at the Puskas Stadium in Budapest on Tuesday. Liverpool will hope that a return to the Champions League action will spark them into life this season. They are 13 points off the pace in the Premier League, winning five of their last 15 games in all competitions.

The Reds have conceded seven goals in their last two games which will not help confidence and their defensive woes are well documented. Leipzig secured their last 16 spot after beating Manchester United 3-2 in the final group game. They are defensively poor and they conceded 12 goals in the group stages – the most of any team left in the competition. I expect a high scoring game on Tuesday night.

Bristol City v Reading

7:45pm – Sky Sports Red Button

Bristol City welcome Reading in the Championship on Tuesday in a must-win game for both sides. Reading are in a real slump on the back of two defeats and have slipped to fifth in the table. Meanwhile, Bristol City are struggling defensively and are in freefall themselves.

They have lost their last five in all competitions while conceding 12 goals. The manner of their latest defeat is a major concern as they lost 6-0 against Watford last Saturday. No doubt Reading will see this as a great opportunity to get back to winning ways. The sides last played back in November with Reading coming out on top 3-1 at the Madejski – a similar scoreline can be expected.

Luton v Cardiff

8:15pm – Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

Cardiff will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to life under Mick McCarthy when they travel to Luton on Tuesday. The Bluebirds moved up to seventh in the Championship after beating Coventry 3-1 on Saturday. Luton are currently 15th but such is the competitive nature of the league they are just three points behind Cardiff. The Welsh side are the fifth-highest scorers in the league and have looked impressive under the guidance of big Mick in recent games.

Luton had a fine win away to Birmingham last week and will see this as a good opportunity to win two on the bounce. The last meeting between the sides saw Cardiff win 4-0 back in November. Luton were busy in the January window and Tom Ince is expected to make his first start in this one. He will give everyone a lift in the Hatters line-up and both sides should have a real go in this one and a high scoring game is anticipated.
