Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has revealed he’ll be wearing TWO pairs of socks when his side take on Leicester this weekend.

The 28-year-old was culpable for two goals during Liverpool’s 4-1 demolition by Manchester City last Sunday with Jurgen Klopp attributing the mistakes to his No1 having cold tootsies. With the Anfield outfit hoping to get their campaign back on track with a victory over the Foxes, Alisson is making sure his feet are well insulated this time out.

“I got these Totes Toasties on Amazon”, the Brazilian told Paddy Power News while wriggling his toes inside the colourful knitted foot garments.

“They’re the perfect winter warmer. I can actually feel my feet sweating in these bad boys”, he said while adjusting the thermostat in his living room.

Describing his performance against City, the former Roma keeper said: “Football socks these days are paper thin. No protection from the elements whatsoever, and don’t even get me started on the boots! Bloody carpet slippers they are.”

Meanwhile, Klopp is hoping the introduction of thermal socks can kick-start Liverpool’s season as the Reds look to leapfrog Leicester into third place.

“Now we have these comfy socks, we must win every game”, admitted the 53-year-old German.

“There can be no excuses. Well, except for the length of the grass; Sean Dyche being a d**k; fluctuating wind speeds; BT Sport kick-off times; the snow; Chris Wilder being a d**k; rhythm breaking referees; cold feet and Jordan Pickford being a d*ck”.

“Our preparation for the match has been superb. Although there are things that occur during games you cannot prepare for, such as: Russian interference; 5G activated mind control microchips making our players score own goals and of course, chemtrails”.

When asked the Alisson still had his manager’s confidence, the former Borussia Dortmund boss said:

“A goalkeeper must always feel as though he has the support of his coach. I always stand by my goalkeepers when they make a mistake”.

“Just ask Simon Mignolet, Loris Karius and Adrián. Wherever they are?”
