Everton to win
Tottenham may have broken their three-game losing streak with a comfortable win against West Brom at the weekend, but the Baggies are one of the worst teams in Premier League history so a win really doesn’t mean much.
The speedy return of Harry Kane is vital for Spurs’ run-in, but whether they decide to risk him for a second time in just three days is a different story.
Spurs currently look an outside bet to finish in the top four and have already reached a domestic cup final, so it may be a case of choosing their battles, especially with the Europa League set to resume next week.
Wednesday, 8.15pm: Everton v Tottenham
BT Sport 1/BT Sport Ultimate
They face an Everton side that outplayed them in the first game of the season and who will be buoyant after their last-gasp equaliser at Old Trafford on Saturday night.
Everton were not particularly good in that thriller in Manchester and would have comfortably lost the game if Manchester United had a competent defence, but they look a far better team than Tottenham in terms of coaching and tactics.
They have no European campaign to worry about and could heap more misery on Jose Mourinho.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score anytime
Dominic Calvert-Lewin had endured a goalscoring drought in the Premier League prior to his goal at Elland Road, but he has now scored twice in as many games and will head into this game full of confidence after rescuing a point for Everton in the final minute of stoppage time.
The English forward was a threat whenever Everton managed to get the ball into Manchester United’s territory on Saturday and will torment Tottenham’s vulnerable defence in the air on Wednesday night.
He proved the difference between the two sides in September’s league meeting and could be Spurs’ undoing yet again in midweek.

Both teams to score? No
Spurs have little chance of scoring if Mourinho does decide to drop Harry Kane ahead of the trip to Manchester City on Saturday.
Tottenham were absolutely dire going forward in the two games that Kane missed against Chelsea and Brighton, while they weren’t much better in the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool when Kane sustained the injury that kept him out of both games.
Mourinho’s side have endured a difficult start to 2021 in front of goal due to Kane’s injury and Son Heung-Min’s struggles. After racing out of the traps at the start of the season, the South Korean forward has slowed down dramatically, scoring just once in his last six games – against a West Brom side that has conceded at least 16 more goals than any other side in the league.
Tottenham could yet again draw a blank at Goodison Park.
MORE TOP TIPS:
Under 3.5 Tottenham corners
Tottenham have been so defensive in difficult games this season that they have barely gotten into a position to win corner kicks.
In their three defeats against Liverpool, Brighton, and Chelsea, for example, Tottenham won a combined total of just five corners, while they managed to win two corners in their 1-1 draw with Wolves and three in their goalless draw at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season.
They failed to win any corners at all in their 2-0 win over Man City and there is a very good chance that they will post similarly low numbers against Everton on Wednesday, regardless of the result.
