It was a great win for Leeds over Leicester at the weekend, and it was a poor defeat for Everton against Newcastle.
Everton have slipped down to eight in the Premier League table, with a couple of games in hand, but they’ve had a little blip in their performances & results. And the manner of their defeat to Newcastle is what will worry Toffees fans. I thought they were really poor and they didn’t create anywhere near enough chances to win that game.
Wednesday, 7.30pm: Leeds United v Everton BT Sport 3
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was on fire earlier in the season but he has no goals in his last seven league games. Richarlison only has two league goals this season, while James Rodriguez has four. They’re going to have to start producing a bit more if Everton’s results are going to start improving again and allow the club to fight for a top-six finish.
Allan, their summer signing from Napoli, has been a big loss as well. He’s been out with a hamstring injury and he’s not going to be back for this game. Jordan Pickford is also out of this game as well so the problems are mounting up and this isn’t a great time for Everton to be playing Leeds, who have picked up two good away wins on the bounce.
Patrick Bamford is in top form, taking his goal against Leicester really well and then was unselfish to pick out his team-mate Jack Harrison to finish the game off after a great counter-attack.
Leeds have been a joy to watch this season. They have conceded the second highest amount of goals in the league, but they’ve only scored two goals less than Manchester City and Manchester United. It’s a credit to Bielsa that he hasn’t abandoned his principals in adjusting to life in the Premier League.
With the form Leeds are in, allied to Everton’s dip in form and injuries, the Whites are a great price to win here. You then can get a nice boost on the price with Leeds to Win and Over 2.5 goals.
