Fresh from their skirmish last weekend, Paddy’s football ambassador Phil Thompson faces off with Paddy’s top football trader Jason Murphy once again to look at Arsenal v Manchester Unitedin the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Both have differing views on how this one’s going to go as the in-form Gunners welcome United to London who suffered a shock defeat to Sheffield United during the week. So, without further ado, here’s Thommo and Jason’s views on Saturday’s biggest game.
Phil Thompson
I don’t think anyone was expecting Sheffield United to beat Manchester United – I was delighted by the way! People will probably complain at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making the changes that he did, particularly to the back line.
But I can understand it because there are so many games coming that you’ve got to rest certain players. This was a game where he thought he could play these, a bit like an FA Cup game, because this team should still beat them.
Saturday 5.30pm: Arsenal v Manchester United Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
He’ll be really disappointed. But if United were going to lose a game it was going to be at home because their away form is really good.
It’s quite astonishing how different the two things are. But in this game, I can’t split them. Arsenal are rejuvenated and in good form, I just think both teams will score.
If Arsenal are going off as the underdogs, that’s the bet I’d be having – Arsenal to win in the 90 minutes, just because it’s the value. As a Manchester Untied fan, the heart is hoping that United pick up three points though.
If you’re looking at the goal scorer markets the one tip I’d put up is Bukayo Saka to Score Anytime. Obviously, you’ll get bigger odds for First Goalscorer but if you look at the three victories Arsenal have had this calendar year he’s scored the second goal in each of those games so he might not necessarily score the first one.
So, for me, when I see him on the ball I actually see him in a Real Madrid jersey. He looks quality with the ball at his feet. That’s how good this player is. I’m really looking forward to seeing Martin Odegaard as well, he will improve Arsenal. What he did at Real Sociedad last season was super impressive and they got David Silva in to replace him so that tells you a lot.
JASON’S TIPS:But in this game if The Gunners go off as underdogs, I’d be backing Arsenal to Win and I’d be siding with Bukayo Saka to Score Anytime in the goal scoring markets because there will be a bit more value with him.

THOMMO’S TIPS: I think it’s going to be goals. I’m doing for a Desmond – 2-2. I really can’t see them being split. But I’m going for Marcus Rashford to Score Anytime, who obviously started his Premier League career against Arsenal, and Alexandre Lacazette to Score Anytime as well.
