Tottenham Hotspur travel to Wycombe Wanderers on Monday night looking to avoid an upset and reach the fifth round of the FA Cup for fifth time in the last six seasons. The two sides have only met once before back in 2017, also a fourth round FA Cup fixture, where a dramatic comeback saw Son Heung-Min score a 97th minute winner to make it 4-3 and take Spurs through to the next round.
Spurs have been in good form in cup competitions this season, with Jose Mourinho’s side reaching the final of the EFL Cup and the last 32 of the Europa League so far. They were untroubled by non-league side Marine in their last FA Cup fixture and while Wycombe will no doubt prove a tougher test, Spurs will be confident of passing this one with flying colours.
Wycombe’s debut outing in the Championship has not gone to plan so far, the Chairboys currently sit rock bottom with just three wins in 23 league games. They’ve struggled for goals so far this campaign, but they did do well last time out in this competition. Gareth Ainsworth’s men scored a 4-1 win against fellow Championship side Preston, and the players will feel like they have nothing to lose here.

Jose Mourinho is expected to rest his star duo of Harry Kane and Son, so it will be up to Carlos Vinicius to lead the line. He scored a first half hat-trick against Marine in Spurs’ last FA Cup tie and will be eager seize another opportunity for goals here.
Spurs will expect to create plenty of chances against the team with the joint worst defensive record in the Championship. That makes Vinicius to score 2 or more goals at looks good value here.

Spurs will be looking to rack up a decent score here and you can expect them to get off the mark early. No side has scored more first-half goals in the Premier League than Tottenham’s 21 this season. They also have the best first-half defensive record with only 4 conceded.
The fringe players will want to keep up the pressure in the second half and given Wycombe’s lack of goals, it’s tough to see them putting Tottenham’s defence under and real pressure.
Joe Jacobson has picked up 5 yellow cards from left back so far this season, the most of any Wycombe player. He’ll have a lot of defending to do against the likes of tricky wingers Gareth Bale and Lucas Moura, so he may struggle to keep them quiet for the full 90 minutes. If Spurs start to rack up the score, its likely some frustration will creep into the Wycombe players and Jacobson looks the best value to be drawn into a rash one here.
