I am looking forward to this game and also looking to find you some entertainment (and value) with a Bet Builder and please always gamble safely. A Bet Builder means you can have a couple of bets within the same game. You can make your own Bet Builder.

If you’re looking for a couple of selections to put in these are a few that I would have for you. Before that though, just a quick look at the outright prices…

FA Cup Outright Winner

DISCLAIMER: I am a United fan, but as a trader I always try to place biases to one side when pricing games and giving tips. The way you can trust me on this, is that I am telling you now, that part of me would be OK with United losing this game.

The reason is that going far in the Cup will negatively affect United’s chances in the title race. The numbers tell us that teams that make the FA Cup semi-final tend to have a reduced points tally in come the end of the season as oppose to teams that do not go on a run in the Cup!

Even just a single point dropped by a Cup run would be mean United are 4% less likely to win the league… Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already made four semi-finals without going any further.

United are about more than winning the Cup, proven by what happened to Louis van Gaal. The winners of this tie also have a tricky game most likely against West Ham so United might be better off without that distraction.

For the FA Cup, I think Burnley and Leicester are two sides who have favourable 5th round draws if they come through this weekend and are a better interest bet for the Cup.

Sunday 5pm: Manchester United v Liverpool
BBC One and BBC iPlayer

5pm: Man Utd v Liverpool

Man Utd to Win
Mason Greenwood to Have 1 or More Shots on Target
Scott McTominay to Score anytime
Fabinho to be booked

These selections (above) in a Bet Builder will give you odds of around 50/1 with Paddy Power.

Man Utd to Win

With regards to Sunday’s game, we are seeing twice as many bets for United as we are Liverpool. I cannot stress how important team news is for Cup games. It is usually worth waiting for the line-ups before placing your bets.

Based on what we saw in the last round against Watford, Ole made wholesale changes but it was still a decent United XI. I know Jurgen Klopp went strong against Aston Villa’s Playschool but part of that was due to the fact Liverpool had no game for nine days following it.

He wanted to keep his best players sharp. With a game against Spurs on Thursday to come, I think he goes weaker here than he did against Villa. Based on this I would suggest United to win in 90 minutes is a good leg for any bet builder.

Greenwood To Have 1 or More Shots On Target

Mason Greenwood started up top against Watford. He burst on to the scene last season and has been running a little cold this season (possibly due to off the field reasons that we will not go into here).

Often we see him playing out wide in the front three behind the striker but I believe for this game he will be up top as the number 9 and we’re very likely to see Greenwood have at least 1 shot on target.

Paul Pogba Manchester United Basaksehir Champions League November 4, 2020

McTominay to Score anytime

This leg will really juice up your Bet Builder and at the price it can be backed just as a single tip as well. We saw against Leeds that Scott McTominay can start a game on fire.

That is what Ole will want his starting XI for this game to do. McTominay did not start midweek against Fulham and I think Ole will go with Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic as two at the base of midfield against Sheffield United on Wednesday. Therefore, McTominay starts and I note he did score the winner in the last round as well. Scott McTominay to Score Anytime is a good bet at a juicy price.

Fabinho to be booked

Fabinho picked up six yellow cards in each of his two seasons at Liverpool but that rate has been upped this season. He has four yellows already, including two in his last two games.

He’s possibly more susceptible to making those necessary, cynical (I say clever) fouls now that he is regularly playing centre back and with no Virgil van Dijk to help. If he starts, then I think Fabinho to be booked is worth a look in a Bet Builder.

If he doesn’t, then Under 3.5 goals is selection that could bump up your bet builder. In the last 20 competitive meetings between these two fierce rivals, Under 3.5 goals has clicked in 18 of them.

There is the always the question about the magic of the cup and does it still exist? As a United fan, I do not think the magic of the cup captures the imagination like it does for other clubs.

Regardless, I cannot wait to watch this game and I am only backing some legs from this Bet Builder as I am watching the game and therefore I will get a bit of entertainment from the bet. Remember you do not always have to have a bet. Please remember to gamble safely and to support those who need it.
